  I'm not sure how to word my invitations. My FI and I are paying for everything. (My Parents did pay for my dress but everything else is on us) The wedding is simi-formal.
  We are having a cake and punch reception afterwards. Do I need to say that or just reception to follow?
  I found these examples online. What wording should I use? TIA

  Well, it's traditional that the bride's parents host the wedding, unless they are deceased or unless they do not support the marriage.  HOSTING is very different from PAYING.

  the 1st and 2nd ones sound too formal.
  
  The 3rd one includes your parents names and they're not paying for wedding so it's up to you to include them...
  
  I suggest something like this:
  

  The pleasure of your company

  is requested at the marriage uniting

  Jennifer Cathryn Hughes

  and
  

  Jason Fredrick Capp

  on Saturday, the fourth of August

  Two Thousand and One

  at four o'clock in the afternoon.....

   

  Or start with

  'Together with our parents, Jennifer and Jason invite you to share the beginning of our new life together when we exchange marriage vows....."

   

   

   

  You might want to include something like 'dessert will be served' so the guests don't expect a full meal.  Or be straight forward "please join us for cake and punch at ___pm"

  You should definitely indicate the type of reception.  If you just say "reception to follow" it's generally assumed that a meal will be served.

  If your parents aren't hosting at all then the first is more appropriate.
  
  Squirrly brought up a good point a few days ago about the 3rd one.  Your  name and your FI's shouldn't be split on the invitation so that one isn't an option.
  
  I'd change it up a bit though:
  
  

  The honour of your presence is requested
  at the marriage of
  Jennifer Huges
  and
  Jason Capp
  Saturday, the fourth of August
  two thousand and one at four o'clock in the afternoon
  St. Paul's Church
  Springfield Illinois

  I'd go with banana's example.  And definitely indicate the type of reception.  I think you would be fine to write "cake and punch reception to follow".  Whenever I see reception to follow I assume a meal is going to be served.  Many of your guests will too, and will probably be starving if there isn't one.
