Wedding Woes

ewww shoes

I work in a fairly conservative office. Some of the engineers wear jeans and polos/button downs, but most of the Purchasing folks get a bit more dressed up.

I was slightly amazed and disgusted when i saw a guy walking around our building in these shoes with dockers and a dress shirt:

i can see wearing them for athletic purposes, but not in an office.

have you tried them? are they comfortable? they don't look like they would be.

I think they are very comfortable, but not appropriate for an office in any way.  Is that person an AW?

I see people wearing these around town (to the store, etc). One guy swears they are comfortable. His boyfriend was quick to point out that they are expensive.

They ARE expensive. But no more so than a really nice pair of running shoes.

There's this girl @ work who wears them and I have *almost* yelled at her for inappropriate lab footwear like 8 times now...and then I realize, she's NOT barefoot.

Can you wear socks with those? I can't stand the idea of bare feet inside of shoes, but I can't imagine socks being very comfortable with them, either.  But I have read that they're the next best thing to running barefoot. Assuming you like running. Barefoot.
