Hair Wars -- Please Help

Alright ladies,

I absolutely love my short natural hair. However, for my wedding, I have always envisioned an updo and this will look great with my dress. I went for a trial last week and hated how my weave turned out. Any suggestions? Please share pics as well of what you did or are doing with your hair on your wedding day. Thanks

  •   This is the idea I have my hair or least some similar to it!!

  • @FutureMzHayden - I've got that pic noted too as a possible hairstyle for my day.  It's so classy.

I am natural so I will have to straighten my hair for the day for the look MzHayden posted but I've always envisioned an updo of some sort for my wedding day too so I am willing to do so.

  • Thanks Girls. My natural hair is really short so straightening it is not an option. What kind of weave would you recommend?
  • I'm not sure what I'm doing because first I thought I was going natural, but now I'm thinking an updo too (especially because our venue is super windy), so I'm lurking in on your question.  Here are some pics that I was considering though.

This might be a bit much for me though.
  • When you say what kind I weave what are you asking? Do you mean type of hair or the processing of weaving it? I live off weave 9 months of the year so I may be some help.

  • My hair is medium length and natural so I was thinking a semi hot comb do for my hair.

Everynight I braid and moisturize my hair and it looks like this:

I was thinking this as a possible with a hot comb and a tiny weave  near the back that blended with my natural hair:

My stylist said that for this look we would need a REALLY hot comb, a little weave for more body and some hair gel. I don't process my hair anymore with relaxer or color so it's going to be very hard for me to get the look I like...not impossible though.

  • I am natural too. Pressing my hair isnt an option because it only last for 2.5 seconds. I decided to get kinky twist and have them styled for the wedding. If you check out curlynikki.com and click on styles, people submit different hairstyles for different lengths. I got some cute ideas from that site

  • Thank you so very much for the pics and insight.
@ Soon2bSand - I am asking about what kind of weave you think might work best for someone with short natural hair. Should I be looking at a sew in or lace-front. I have had several sew in's in the past but did not like the way mine looked last week at my trial. I was therefore considering a lace front or anything that will look most natural and easiest to style. Please be very specific with what kind of hair you would recommend. Thanks again ladies.
