I responded to her son walking her down the "Isle". I don't see what some beach vacation has to do with her son and why she cant walk herself. Maybe the sand is too hard to walk on?
• Sand can be tricky. Especially if it's quick sand. I learned all about that nasty ass stuff today on Scooby Doo.

[QUOTE]Well...the papers were signed (it's amazing what a hired merc can accomplish) and I was worried all for nuthin so yay for me but I have another dilemma. My son Steven wants to become Stephanie and move forward with his gender reassignment surgery before the wedding. I think he should wait. I mean there is a lot of healing involved and I want him to be able to walk me down the isle, know what I mean? What do you think?

See, I would really like to answer this question legitimately, but I can't tell if this is for real or not, since you've been fighting with people all through this thread. I'm not quite sure what's happening here right now.

If this is legit, then that's the only possible "excuse" I could see for flipping shitt at Roxy like that. That was pretty severe, and if you're that worked up maybe you should take a break from this place.

• Wow I must say I'm getting really sick of these every is mean to me wah wah wah posts. It's giving us newbs a bad name! Don't defile my newb status just because you wanted validation.

In all seriousness now, why must you guys post these every 5 minutes it seems like. If you would just take the time to lurk your questions would get answered without you getting flamed for whiney and saying but i'm special. I'm the exception. No you aren't the exception you are the rule, there are no exceptions when it comes to being polite to your friends!

My philosophy is if you have to ask if something is rude or tacky it probably is otherwise you wouldn't have a funny feeling in the pit of your stomach about doing it.

There are a few brides to be that ask a question and graciously accept the answers they are given which is a breath of fresh air amongst those who feel the need to defend why they should be the exception why their situation is different. That is when most of the flaming happens that i've seen

So get off your soap box in the world of rainbows and puppies and join the rest of us in the real world.
• so if someone has a tacky or ridiculous idea, then why can't you brides tell them nicely? why do you have to call them names and everything. They come on here for advice because they are newly engaged or asking advice bc they are new to wedding planning and just need to be told politley that what they are doing is wrong or not proper etc. No need for the sarcasm or name calling. That is just plain rude and I see it all the time. It's not necessary. Really. Why get all bent out of shape over their so called "dumb" ideas. Your not the one attending the wedding or affected personally by it in any shape or form. so let their family/friends get upset and call names.. not the people who are supposed to just listen and give their advice or opinion.. theres no need to get all hyped up over it and start drama with them
• I am affected by it personally. Every time someone makes a wedding related etiquette breach, one of my toes falls off. They grow back after a few days, but damn it's hard to walk during the spring months.

You do know that, separate from wedding planning, there is such a thing as common sense right?

Does it really sounds like common sense is operating to you if a person wants to invite 100 people to the church, 150 to dinner, and 300 more to just dancing? That has nothing to do with being new to wedding planning fo sho.

I think you have these two parties confused. The whole point of posting here is to prevent people's friends and family from judging their choices. And if we are "supposed to listen," why shouldn't it go both ways, where the OP listens as well?

Call me a huge twatwaffle, but I really judge people who do not have common sense. I mean, being ditzy is one thing, not weighing the reprocussions of your decisions and actions is another.

I'm just not getting your reasoning here. So you want us to read people's posts, nod enthusiastically, and shut our mouths? Why are we here then? Can't you get the same silent validation from a wide awake puppy or a bobble head doll?

Your suggestion would be like going to a restaurant and asking for something to eat, but not caring whether it's on the menu or not. Why go there in the first place? You're not going to get what you want.
