Star Wars wedding help

Yes you read that correctly. Me and my FI plan on having a Star Wars theme wedding! (We are both big nerds and met talking about SW) I am drawing some big blanks on ideas and thought you guys might have some.

We already have planned out the music to walk down the aisle to and outfits for our groomsmen and FI. What we are both stuck on are wedding colors and some decorations. Our venue is offering black, ivory, or whit table clothes and napkins of our color choice. I also really want to have chair coverings with the different colored sash. I was thinking of possibly black and tiffany blue for wedding colors. Thoughts?

Also, how can I incorporate this theme more into the reception and ceremony? Any decoration ideas would be greatly appreciated! I'm generally very crafty and would love to make my own things for the wedding, I just haven't been able to come up with any!

    DD was a BM for her girlfriend a couple of years ago.  The bride surprised her new husband when they were introduced into the reception.  When the doors opened they were introduced to the Imperial March and the bridal party had light sabers and made a saber arch for them to walk under.  He thought it was awesome.

    Keep your decorations very very subtle or it will end up looking like a bday party.  You could have a grooms cake with a light saber.

    My DS was 14 when last DD got married.  He lives in pocket tees and hoodies.  When I told him he had to wear a suit I told him I would order him a Star Wars tie.  He is the untimate SW Nerd so he bought off on it with no problem.

    Google Star Wars ties and all of your guys could wear those with their tux/suit.

    If you keep the SW elements subtle but noticeable I think you will pull off a great wedding.

    DS is planning to incorporate SW into his senior pics this summer.  Hey, they are his pics, I'm good with it.

    I'm walking down the aisle to the Star Wars soundtrack and we're having a Star Wars cake topper.  But I think incorporating Star Wars too much into the decor itself would look a little cheesy, or, as PPs have said, like a kid's party.  I really think the best way to do it is to incorporate little touches of the things you love without making it a "theme," you know?

    We are also incorporating bits of Star Wars. I am surprising FI with a SW grooms cake in the shape of the death star and a SW themed cake topper, I got him cuff links shaped like Darth Vader's mask, our bridal party will be announced to the song that plays at the end of the SW movie, and our signature drinks will be something like "Yoda Soda" or "Coruscant Cooler" or something along those lines.

    Love it!! Not sure what to say about decor or anyhting. But my FI is a HUGE SW nerd. So I'm going to get a Star Wars groom cake, maybe of yoda, or a lightsaber? Not sure yet.     that sounds awesome!! My bf and I love Star Wars.. I wouldn't go overboard with the decor though but what about doing a grooms cake in the shape of R2 D2 or Darth Vadar or something? The light saber arch idea for you to enter under sounds really good too. Maybe incorporate some of the theme music somewhere as well. Laughing

    I love the ideas so far, especially the lightsaber arch! Maybe you could have all the groomsmen wear Star Wars cufflinks. This site has some pretty nice ones:

    We're doing a Jedi Sith style Star wars Themed. Since we couldn't get any of the other guys to dress in kilts, Star wars was our backup idea. :) MY ideas are lightsaber centerpieces, getting married on a lakeside and having the reception indoors. My fiance will be dressed like a Sith Lord and I'll be in a strapless wedding gown. I'm really intrigued with the Mara Jade character so I'll go with a gown based on her if I can't fit into the current one.
