ordering wedding dress online

Hello lovely ladies :)
I was just wondering if any of you have ordered wedding dresses online from kissmymelinda.com? I found a dress I really love and like how they have been getting right back to me with my questions, but I would love to hear if anyone else has ordered from them. We're young and poor, trying to save every place we can and so far its been fun :)

Re: ordering wedding dress online

  • Those are knockoffs. Is there a specific gown you have your eye on? Maybe we can help you find the real thing for cheap.

one of my friends bought a knockoff dress "from china" and it looked great on her but it was so poorly made that she was super uncomfortable and could barely sit in it.  it looked amazing in the photos but she changed into a reception dress.

agree with pp, if you can post a pic on this board girls will try to help you find it!  or you can look online at nordstrom, macy's- i saw wedding gowns at nordstrom.com in the $100-200 range.  also designers like jim hjelm make GORGEOUS floor length BM gowns that you can order in white/ivory.  at my bridal shop in CO those run around $200 or so.  here's a pic from the jim hjelm website:

  • try weddingdressonline.com and they also have a shop in houston
  • thanks everyone :)
I know that they are knock-offs- It just seems to me that sometimes one could be paying more for the name on the label than anything else. My problem is I am needing a dress in less than two months and I'd like only to spend $250. I know the saying- "You get what you pay for" I'm just not wanting to spend a lot on it. Thanks for the websites and suggestions. I will check those out!
  • p.s. I'd love to find a dress with cap sleeves, satin with lace, and a lace up back.
This is the one I had my eye on: http://www.kissmymelinda.com/aline-cap-sleeves-chapel-train-lace-wedding-dresses-p-2288.html
  • Okay, just wanted to make sure. If you want to go this route, it's up to you, but personally, I would never do it, because you do get what you pay for. Every time I've seen a lace dress made by one of these companies, it has looked really bad because low-quality lace is very stiff and looks awkward.

I would suggest checking out some of the preowned dress sites. That way you'll know that you are getting a quality gown, and you can get it quickly, at a steep discount. I myself am selling a lace-edged gown similar to what you're looking for, for $150. So there are lots of options.

    Try:
    preownedweddingdresses.com
    bravobride.com
    oncewed.com
    recycledbride.com

and also any bridal consignment shops in your area.
  • Thank you :) I will check those sites out!
