There are so many American comics who got their start on SNL. My dad used to tape it every Saturday night, then get two VCRs and pick out all of his favorite skits to make six-hour home mix tapes of SNL. (Of course he also removed most of the stuff that was inappropriate for kids). Then he'd just let us watch them all the time. I think he had one tape that had like an hour of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey all by themselves.

My mom always tells stories about her and my dad drinking and watching SNL on saturday nights, and now my husband and I do that. Its like a family tradition. My dad and my uncle used to do mr bill skits at family gatherings, the stories about it are hilarious.

 I have no clue how I've kept it a secret for so long. I've come close to giving it away a few times but have caught myself before blabbing. I REALLY want to tell him, though- just for the sake of ensuring I've got everything organised and packed, if nothing else! but I'm going to keep my mouth shut. I'm still not sure about the reveal! I think he wants me to blindfold him, have an ipod in his ears throughout the plane ride and not find out where we're going until we arrive, haha. We can't exactly do that, though (airport security may not look favourably on blindfolds!), so I think I'll wait until we get to the airport and get him to guess which check in desk we need to go to. He knows when the plane is departing so there's only a couple of options and both aren't what he'd expect, I think, so that might be amusing... Unless you guys have a better idea!

Are we talking about arrested development episodes? I nearly died when I saw the episode where the mom had smoked weed and went driving but was really slow and ran into the weird banana hut and then buster (?) pulled the other brother out with a giant claw but he wasnt wearing any pants because he got hot in the banana outfit and flashed the whole crowd? I died.
