I made it there... it was a little fun, fishtailing up my street, but the roads were mainly wet this morning. I didn't realize my passenger side windows were a sheet of ice that would break by me putting the window down until I was already halfway to work...

NVC, I am crazy jealous that doesn't come on in the States. It looks awesome.

My pilot called yesterday and told me not to even bother coming in. Booyah.

I would also like to give a thumbs up to the traditional six-monthaversary gift.

The parking lot/sidewalks at my apartment complex were solid ice. Other than Norristown my ride wasn't too bad.

Considering we have the same apt mgmt group, my parking lot was ice too! What a surprise. The rest of the ride (all highway) was fine. It was not fun cleaning off the car wile it was still sleet/raining.

I'm def excited for when my rum-aversary gets here.

I'm working from home. 2 roads I need to take to get to the train were closed (they flood a lot) and the trains were on a half hour delay so I said screw it. But I was up at 6:30 getting stuff down so I couldn't fully take advantage of being at home.

My boss emailed me last night and told me to come in at 10:30 instead of 9:30... then I just got another email saying the school district up there is closed for the day.. Try to come in at noon! I will take it

However for some reason I was WIDE AWAKE at 8am! WTF!

I have only looked out our balcony doors and I have no interested in going out...My plan is to go downstairs to our apt's gym.... do my last day of week 3 C25K...

Oh a WARMER note, we officially booked Jamaica!! Bring on November

I was treated to some ice skating of my own, I would have been much better prepared for the first part of my trip if I had been driving a Zamboni! Luckily the main roads were fine.

good morning! still no word rom CHOP about my interview. This is really starting to piss me off. I don't understand how you contact candidates less than a week before you want to schedule the interviews. It also didnt help that yesterday was MLK. Interviewing with Dr's scares me lol.

Snow day today! Wooot. The weather is awful and I'm glad I didn't have to go out in it - Mac looked like he wanted to cry on hi morning walk today trying to tridge through allt he slush and ice. I am pretty sure it hurt his poor little puppy paws

DH went in today, which means I am at home chilling, doing some dishes, figuring out how to install this light fixture for our dining room, and catching up on my DVR.

Blinds hunting was a total success yesterday - the people at Blinds to Go were crazy awesome and price matched the sale Home Depot was having. We are outfitting our whole house (except for our front two bedrooms, we didn't want to go custom stuff for those until we know what the heck they'll be used for long-term) with made-to-measure wood blinds and cordless cellular shades for UNDER a grand. I was thinking we might wind up having to spend up to two.

PS - Are you allowed a rum-aversary for every 6-moth mark? As in, I will be married for a year and a half come February. Would rum and condoms be a breach of etiquette at that point? What does Emily Post say about this?

hahaha the electric ice scraper is awesome-- I had never heard of it either. It plugs into your cigarette outlet and it gets heated and as you're scraping the windows the heat melts the ice faster. It's great for when I'm running late and dont have time to scrape haha

My poor car was covered in an inch of ice this morning :-( AND FI's car isn't working. Although, it's a 1991 so I'm not really surprised haha. Hopefully it's just being stubborn in the cold because I really don't want to buy a car right now since we're saving for a house.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day despite this crap weather!

DH had a 2 hours delay so he cleaned my car and drove me in. He broke my ice scraper into 5 pieces.

I know the chances are slim but I really hope the rain makes all the snow go away.

I had a two hour delay. So I'm just in work now....not sure why they didn't give us the whole damn day...It's disgusting out. AND the sidewalks here aren't even shoveled - or salted! I nearly slipped and broke something. Can we skip the rest of January, all of February?? I am so ready for Spring.

That ice scraper looks great. I swear by Deicer. It comes in a spray can- it's like 3 bucks and does a great job breaking down whatever ice is ever on my windshield. It's really great because I'm insanely impatient... and it works almost immediately.

Amer- yay for 6 month anniversaries... Can I do this as a negative 1 year anniversary? I'll test it out...
