Winter Jam 2012

We are in Raleigh and went to Winter Jam tonight.  If you have a Winter Jam coming near you this spring, you have to go!  It was great!  Some of the artists there were for KING AND COUNTRY, Kari Jobe, NewSong, Peter Furler, Sanctus Real and Skillet!  It was Joe's 42nd Skillet show (my 14th).  Peter Furler was awesome.  It was just like old Newsboys (Phil Joel was even there playing with him!)

We met for KING AND COUNTRY (Luke and Joel) after the show and got to talk to them for a few minutes (see pic below).  It was great!  They sing the song on the radio "Busted Heart (Hold On To Me)".  They are brothers of Rebecca St. James.  (Joel is VERY good looking - don't worry - Joe knows I think that!)

So if you can, go to the show when it comes to a city near you.

    I'd like to go to winter jam. There's one nearby, so we'll have to looking into going. 

    Also you guys have seen Skillet a lot of times!! I'm jealous! (only been once)

    There's a Winter Jam here every year on the campus of my alma mater.  I haven't been in several years though due to it selling out early, them turning people away, and it being SO CROWDED!  I haven't felt the desire to fight the crowds, haha.

    Sounds cool! I have seen Skillet once but I left after 2 songs (I was there for Tobymac and he was done). Skillet's just a little too heavy for me. Glad you had fun!!

    Bummer Amanda.  Raleigh was not sold out.  But there were probably about 15,000 people there.  Maybe they need to pick a larger venue in your town.  Laughing

    Apparently, it comes out west in the fall of 2012 *shrug* I've never been.

    I've been to Winter Wonderslam, though. It was just Toby Mac and Matthew West, but I loved it! Another thing I've been to is Rock and Worship Road Show. They skipped out on the eastern side of Washington this last year so I didn't get to go, but that would have been my 5th time going. This year they're coming up here, so I'm totally going! They've got MercyMe, Tenth Avenue North, Lacrae, Hawk Nelson (who I've seen 10 times now), Disciple, Sidewalk Prophets, and Rend Collective Experiment (not sure who that is...). But it's the same way at Winter Jam where it's just $10 at the door.

    I've been before, but it's been a few years. At the last one I went to, they had to turn away thousands of people due to fire marshall stuff about the space.

    Last year Ryan and I were hoping he could come and visit around that time of year, and he saw an ad about it and was like "Oh my gosh! There's this amazing concert coming near you adn it's only ten dollars and you have to go and--"

    Me: "Winterjam?"

    Him, surprised "Yeah! It's amazing. Ah! I want to go!"

    Being in India he doesn't get a lot of Christian concerts near him so he was just blown away by the idea of such a cool one for such a great price being right near me. Made me appreciate the resources we Christians have here pretty regularly.
