I gave a blanket +1 to everyone.
I'm getting some RSVPs back with "John Smith, 2 people". I didn't know John Smith was dating anyone. Since I'm filling out escort cards as RSVPs come back, I'm not sure what to do.
Do I:
1) put "John Smith's guest" on the escort card?
or
2) ask John what his guest's name is? Is there a way to do this tactfully ("hey, who's your guest" just seems a bit....odd to me)?
Thanks!

I'd just call them up and ask them. I don't see anything odd about doing that.

[QUOTE]Definitely get the name of that person. I went to a wedding in November where I knew both the bride and groom - and because FI was a groomsman he was considered the invited person and I was considered the "guest" - let's just say I was a little offended that I was called "FI's Guest" on the escort cards. Even if you don't know the person just being labeled "guest" is never very inviting.

when I moved to DC (from MI) I went as a "guest" to a wedding for friends of the friends I was living with (the wedding was a week after I moved). The couple saw my friend RSVP for 2, and assumed she was bringing her FI, so I was Mr. John Smith for the whole evening....I thought it was funny :-p
**Mind you, we have been engaged since Jan and these were all this year.
Now that I've read this, that seems kind of stupid.
