Help...Full-Service Chocolate Fountain...Advice

Hi Everyone,

Maybe someone here can help me. My FI & I are planning an In-suite Reception at Mandalay Bay.  Really the only request my FI has made so far is to opt out of the wedding cake and cupcake route and go with a Chocolate Fountain instead.  I have no problem with this as long as it is Full-serviced and attended to as I am having 50pp there and my FG who'll be 9 will be the only kid.  I am having trouble finding a vendor.  I've only found 2 so far:  1.) Everything in Chocolate & 2.) Eternally Chocolate.  Does anyone know of any other vendors they can suggest, or is this the only 2?

Also, I thought it would still be nice to get a small one tier cake that we could cut for pictures and any of the guests who do not want the chocolate can have that as I do not like cake myself.  However, the 2 Chocolate Fountain vendors I mentioned above do not offer this.  I am planning on using Masterpiece Cuisine for catering.  Does anyone know if they could provide the cake?  I really didn't want to have to go to another vendor just to get a small cake.  Any advice?

And lastly does anyone think I'm going to have problems getting the Chocolate Fountain into the Vista suite? Or even with setting it up?

  • Sounds yummy, but the only thing I would be worried about would be getting chocolate all over the carpet in the suite. THey would probably charge you big bucks if that happened... I love chocolate fountains too, but I am not sure it is worth the risk of the mess. Hope you get it worked out! Tongue out

  • We are having a fountain in addition to cake and cake pops. It was provided by our hotel as a part of our food/drink minimum. It's self serve but I'm not having any kids at the reception who could get mischievous. Long story short: does MB offer fountain you could use?
  • I'd be afraid to loop MB in unless they're providing the catering for your in-suite-- otherwise they'd bust you for bringing in outside vendors.  I also would worry about what a PP said about getting chocolate on the carpet-- that would make things really expensive, haha.
  • Masterpiece does work with a bakery.  When we had our tasting we also went to the bakery for a treat, I forget the name now but they were willing to do our cake and have masterpiece deliver it.  Just email Scott and he will tell you the name of it, I am pretty sure they have a website.
