Help! Wedding in 2 days!

My wedding is just 2 days away and the cold and wind we have been getting has my face completely dry, flaky, and chapped. My skin is super sensitive so I'm very hesitant to try a new product. I have been reading different tips online and a lot of people say to put olive oil or vaseline right on your face but I'm afraid I will wake up with my skin all broken out on my wedding day. Any suggestions?

Re: Help! Wedding in 2 days!

  • What products do you normally use, if any? Is there any exfoliate that you use and know you can tolerate? If so, I'd definitely exfoliate tonight and then apply a slightly heavier than normal amount of moisturizer. I totally understand your fear of trying something new so close.

<div>That sounds really risky to try something SO new this close to your wedding!</div><div>
</div><div>I think if I were in your shoes, I would just use the same moisturizer as always, only more frequently and exfoliate as pp suggested.</div>
  • Ditto PPs. Also drink TONS of water. Seriously. It'll help everything in your body. =)
  • Drink LOTS of water and if you want a lotion or something, I use Vaseline lotion. When I worked at Walmart and my hands were dry and cracked from dealing with cardboard all day, it was the ONLY thing that helped my hands and didn't burn.

  • Drink a ton of water and get a sensitive skin cream to put on your skin. Maybe something like Neutrogena that won't clog pores.

  • Thanks ladies! I went out last night and got a good cream for sensitive skin with no fragrance and is non-cogogenic. I put a ton on my face last night and this morning and things are looking better. I think the skin will be repaired enough by tonight to very lightly exfoliate. Also, I am carrying my huge water bottle with me everywhere. Thanks for the advice!
  • PPs offered great tips! I tend to get dry skin when I wash my face with hot water in the shower, the handle that controls the temp is screwy so what was a good temp to rinse my face wash in one day will be 10x colder or 10x hotter the next.

Wash your face with cold water, pat face dry, use moisturizer, and try to relax. I would try exfoliating tomorrow and be very gentle and moisturize :-)

Don't over moisturize either! I think 2-3 times a day is the standard.
