Interview attire

Re: Interview attire

  • Our consultant strongly suggested wearing dark trousers, and a clean top, with little to no pattern. You don't want your clothing to be distracting, otherwise you're interview will be remembered by your clothing and not your job experience/education.

    Good luck!

  • of your options, I would prefer a white dress shirt and colored cardigan. and I say bring on the color--neutrals are boring and colors will help you to stand out so the interviewer actually remembers you. I'm wearing purple to my interviews.

If anyone reads this, my interview was a HUGE waste of time. They dont even pay minimum wage (apparently no one told them it goes up this month) and the dude only asked me four questions and then said he had all the information he needed. It was a total waste of time, I was in and out in less than 5. Blah.

It was just a front desk position at a hotel here, so not exactly my IDEAL job, but at this point im not too picky (still kinda picky, but not an extreme amount).
  • That's lame, Nebb. I'm sorry.

Thanks fische, It was pretty lame. But, it got me out of the house dressed in more than jeans and a sweatshirt though, so that is an accomplishment in itself!
  • If you have a New York & Co, they have great dress clothes at a great price.  I have purchased 2 suits from them and several dress pants.

I think the "dress" all depends on the job being interviewed for.  If it is an outdoors or casual job, a complete suit or dress may be a bit formal.  But if it is a very business professional type of job, then go suit and professional.  Keep it a step above the daily wear.

Whatever you decide, best of luck!
