It's a combination of religion, tradition and sparkly lights & gift giving. I grew up in church and still hold basic beliefs even though I don't attend anymore. And Christmas just...is. It's there, I'm going to celebrate it because I always have and I love getting together with family.

Blue) What is your favorite Christmas movie? Ooooh that's hard. (that's what she said). Probably Rudolph. Or It's a Wonderful Life. Or Love Actually if we're counting that as a Christmas movie. Oooh! Or Friday After Next.

Cheese) How old were you when you figured out Santa wasn't real? (If you still believe he is real, feel free to elaborate.) I honestly can't remember so it must not have been very traumatic.

Thirty-seven) Who is your favorite reindeer and why? Prancer. His name makes him sound fancy.

Beer) Do you have a nativity scene in your house? If so...is it a standard one or do you have something like Star Wars figurines in it like my friend does? I don't, but I would like one. My mom has, like, 4 so maybe she can give me one. It would be pretty standard.

Cheese) How old were you when you figured out Santa wasn't real? (If you still believe he is real, feel free to elaborate.) I was about 4. My brother told me on December 23rd(ish) that Santa did a test run and fell off the roof and died. I cried for days.

I haz a retro one where one of the lambs and baby jesus had to be hot glued in circa 1989. and all the glued in hay/stray is gone. it reminds me of growing up and for that it will ALWAYS be my nativity scene.

I was in 1st grade - I came home bawling because some kid told me Santa wasn't real on the bus. My mom was shocked that I still believed and she sat me down on the bed, started brushing my hair and explained that she and daddy were Santa. I still remember, vividly. It was like the world was ending - everything I ever believed was a lie!!! ha. I miss being a kid.

Thirty-seven) Who is your favorite reindeer and why? Blitzen - I'd call him "The Blitz" - I love HIMYM - I have a feeling Blitzen misses all of the cool stuff during the reindeer games. Poor guy! THE GENTLEMAN!!!!

We do get a tree. We haven't gotten it yet because we get a real tree and it's a little early yet to put it up and maintain. Usually we'd do it the weekend before, so this year would be the 18th-19th. But we will be having Xmas with H's side OOT so hopefully we can at least get it before we go and set it up , then decorate when we get back. Excited!!!!!!

I think I used to celebrate it for the sparkly lights and gifts, but I've definitely become more involved in church and learning the whole religious aspect of the holiday season.

I'm Catholic by birth, but pretty much just Christian by practice. My friends are a little bit of everything, so we celebrate Yule one of the weekends in December. It's a lot of fun.

Broom) I used to get a real tree every year. I finally caved and went fake. We have two fake trees. When I had real trees, Tigger had to give every tree a good sniff when it came in. I suppose he was checking for hitchiking hobo animals. There never were any. One year, he managed to fall over into the tree during his inspection which catapulted a glass ornament across the room. We now have unbreakable ornaments that go around the bottom of the tree.

Beer) Do you have a nativity scene in your house? If so...is it a standard one or do you have something like Star Wars figurines in it like my friend does? I do. It's pretty standard; I have ceramic figurines all dressed in cream. I wish it was more colorful, but I bought it during my "fancy silver" phase. I'd get another one, but I have a hard enough time finding somewhere to put this one.

Broom) Do you get a tree? If so...have you put it up yet? If you have any animals, do they try to destroy the tree like mine do? Bonus points for PIP. I have a fake tree. We had a real one last year and it was too much trouble to keep alive. BooBoo loves playing with the lights' shadows, and Blaque climbed it before we decorated it, but he's over it now, I think. Beasley is so extremely underwhelmed with the whole thing. Barker was trying to figure it out yesterday, but didn't do any damage. I need to get some better pics of them all with it. I wish they'd wear matching sweaters.
