The bridal shop talked me in to crinny...

So, my dress is in, I already had my first (only) fitting- we're hemming it and doing the bustle, that's it.

But I'm getting a little nervous.... I had never tried my dress on with a crinny, didn't think it would work. But I tried one on at my fitting and they totally talked me in to it! I'd love to dye it orange- way fun- but I'm thinking that the dress is flipping huge now, and that's not what I really wanted...

The dress is Maggie Sottero's Melissa, a dropped waist a-line- I REALLY like that it hugs my hips and don't want to look like a balloon lmao! The crinny did hold the dress out and make the pleats look better but... I think my biggest issue is that I don't even have a pic with the crinny on, so I can't compare.

Next (final) fitting is 6/15, wedding is 6/26. If I wait until the final fitting and decide I don't want it, will they have enough time to redo the hem? Also, does that make me a douche for waiting until the last minute even though I know now that I still have to decide?

WWYD? Wait until the final fitting or try to get in there asap? (Also- I'm busy as hell right now, and trying to think when I could make time to get to the shop gives me heartburn LOL)

Ditto pp, I would try and get there in asap and give yourself more room to make a decision than making a quick decision at the last minute, plus you'll be getting this hard decision over with. I'm also a 6/26 bride (one month to go!) and my final fitting is on June 5th so after that I'm done making decisions!

It sounds like you really have your heart set on the way the dress is already and how it hugs your hips like you said. If that's how you feel the most beautiful and comfortable then I would stick to no crinny. But on the other hand since you have seen yourself with the dress and the crinny on and you were able to be talked into it, it sounds like you feel just as beautiful that way too. I'm sure with the crinny, your pictures will come out fantastic with a little extra oomph under the skirt of the gown. As for dying your crinny orange, one of the girls on my local did this and it came out awesome!
  • Crinoline will definitely change your hem length, and you may not have a choice if they cut the length already.  Definitely get in there asap.

Btw, I dyed my crinny, and it looks awesome!  I have directions in my bio and tips.  Page or PM if you do end up with the crinny and need help!
