  My FI is a into indy rock and he has great taste in music.  I on the other had love cheesy pop music (i.e. Madonna, Gaga, Britney, ect).  So we made a deal... He's in charge of ceremony & cocktail music, and I'm in charge of the reception dancing music.  He told our DJ he wants songs by Jeff Buckley, Ryan Adams, Grant Lee Buffalo, The Decemberists, Band of Horses, Arcade Fire, & Broken Social Scene.  He also loves Wilco and our first dance is to a song by them called You & I.  It really depends on what kind of feel you want to the ceremony.  Check out some of these artists on iTunes & see if they jump out at you.

  I went slightly non-traditional (but still classical) but I also had a DJ who could play the arrangements I wanted:

  Unity:  Serenade in B Flat K 361 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

  BP walked down to John Hiatt's "Have A Little Faith"
  I walked down to "Your Love Is Extravagant" by The Almost (I think it's an awesome wedding song)
  Recessional was "My Beautiful Rescue" by This Providence

  I am going to walk down the aisle to a bautiful instrumental version of "Edelweiss." Yes, the song from the "Sound of Music." It has special meaning to me and with my grandmother.

  I think the DJ is doing them for the prelude and then our exiting song (whatever that is actually called). We're doing their version of All You Need is Love and we haven't told anyone about that detail. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. For the processional we're doing the traditional bridal marches, but I don't see anything wrong with a little more VSQ!

  I am lucky enough to have a friend of mine volunteer to play cello at my wedding, so everyone will be walking down the aisle to "Here There and Everywhere" by the Beatles.
