It's not that hard to know.  I knew that I wanted it to be in towards the end July of 2011.  I also knew I wanted to get married on a Friday.  So, it was pretty much July 22  or July 29. When we went to book the venue, the 22nd was open.  And the rest fell into place.

What I have noticed with my friends who are engaged is that when people find out they are the FIRST question they get asked is "When is the wedding". This makes the JE girls think they need to decide like right away. Chances also are they had a date in mind long before they were engaged.

@Bren- the 2013 board is active? Man my "expected" date of Sept 2012 board is like a ghost town.

There need to be a "I don't know when the F my wedding is!" board. You got your ring and you're just enjoying being engaged for awhile? Come here!

I'm  pretty sure that I will come on here one day and say "Guess wat!! we be'z married!" Like our vacations, I'll probably have no clue until the night of when FI calls and says "Pack, we're going to X and our flight leaves at x:xx."

MLeKath - You and me both, my friend!! :) At least that's how it happens in my dreams. It would avoid a lot of unnecessary expense and family crap. But bf wants a wedding - with people at it, not eloping with one or two witnesses. Boo.

We picked a date about 8 months before I got my ring. I don't know why. I think we were just playing around and said, "Yeah, that's a good date for a wedding." I don't plan on putting up a ticker until we get closer to that date though.

Now we just gotta hope the world doesn't asplode in December of 2012.

Audgie - I can't do the Chinese food, but I LOVE Mexican food, so I'm definitely there!  I'll even borrow my dad's fancy shmancy camera and take pictures of you and your FI in your hot air balloon.

As for picking a date - FI and I both agreed we didn't want to get married during the summer in Vegas, so that left Spring or Fall of 2011 and we really didn't want to wait over a year to get married, so we looked at Spring.  We emailed our families to see if there were any date conflicts and everyone seemed to like March better than April.  We picked the 1st Saturday in March, made sure it worked for the church and got it booked.  We picked our reception venue on the date - it was more important for us to have the church as opposed to the reception venue.  The place we liked had our date available, so it all worked out for us.
