Rental deliveries on Saturdays-- just how much more? Isn't it status quo for venues to allow rental

Hi all,

The venue my fiance and I have picked, after they delayed getting us a contract to sign for weeks, is now suddenly saying they may renege on letting us have our rentals delivered on Friday ahead of our Saturday wedding.

Two questions:

1) Anyone have a general idea just how much more party rental companies charge if you need deliveries to be made Saturday rather than a weekday? Does it boost the bottomline cost by 10%? 50%? Double it?

2) Isn't it kind of par for the course that wedding venues allow deliveries on Friday and pickups Monday? It seems in all our research of other venues everyone just considered that arrangement to be the status quo? Is that what you guys have found out too?

Thanks!

I was told I had to pay $800 more for Sunday pick-up at my venue. I was a little annoyed by the fee, but I wouldn't expect the venue to allow me to leave it there an extra day. I guess it depends where in NY you are and how many events your venue does per weekend.

However, I would be concerned about a rental place that ups their prices on the weekends. Aren't most party rentals on the weekend? Are you using one of the big companies like, Classic Party Rental? Maybe get estimates from other places just to compare.

Most, if not all rental places do charge extra for weekend (Saturday/Sunday) delivery and pick-ups.  Yes, most of them are out on the weekends anyway, but because they require more rentals to be delivered on weekends, that's why they charge more - because it requires more labor and is a bit more restrictive.

The venues I've worked at have allowed for Friday drop-off and a Monday pick-up whenever possible, but sometimes it just can't be done b/c they lack storage or need it for another event.  It is what it is...and you just have to pay the additional fee...

    It's generally a flat fee - anywhere from $100 - $300 (sometimes they charge per pu/delivery) - ie:  $600 for a pu/do on a saturday & sunday.
