  At first I was just going to have my sister be in my wedding party so I picked this dress for her:

  But then I decided that I wanted my best friend in my wedding party and I might have another girl too. Now I don't know what to do. My sister would be crushed if I got the other girls the same dress, plus the above dress would not be figure flattering on them anyway.
  
  I was thinking about this dress in black:

  but am worried about the clash in material. The first dress has a knit bottom and the other dress is satin.
  
  What do you think?

  I think that's a good idea. I think it will look nice that they're dresses are simpler versions of your sister's. As far as the fabrics, it's hard to tell based on pictures whether it would be noticeable that they're different so maybe you can go to the store and hold them side by side?

       I've seen that knit skirt and truthfully,  against satin, it looks like old lady polyester pants material.
  
       Mixing a shiny satin with others of a matte texture  is great, but a textured crepe, crepe de chine  or georgette,  charmeuse or chiffon,  or a jacquard  tone on tone    would all be much nicer than that knit texture,  IMHO.
  
  I like the top style, though.

  You said that the first dress wouldn't flatter your other bridesmaids at all....yet the second dress looks almost exactly the same.  Are you sure you want them in that type of dress?
  
  Why not pick a color and material and just have the other girls pick a dress. Or find a completely different dress for the other BMs in the same color.  They don't have to be similar in style to look nice together.  All four of my bridesmaids wore different dresses, but in the same color and material, and I think it looked really nice.
