Got our first RSVPs but worried now!

We got our first RSVPs today.  We got 4 of them .  I sent 94 invitations out and after recieving 4 RSVPs back that were all yes and totally 17 people I am freking out and worried that there are going to be more people than expected.  Anyone else worried?

  • Yes me too! I was hoping to get some no's to save money. But we've got 60 yeses so far. 68 still to go so maybe there will be no in there.

  • Im a bit concerned.. but I only really need 5 people to say no to have my ideal # of folks.
  • Absolutely! We invited 174 to the wedding and all we are hearing so far is yes. It is at my aunt and uncles farm. So worried haha.
  • I haven't received any RSVPs back yet, but if we get 100% attendance I wont be worried because we can afford to host all of our guests. It's not wise to plan and hope that not everyone will RSVP yes...

  • haha, don't worry.  It seems to me that I got them in batches - I'd get 4 yes (4 couples = 8 people) then I'd get a bunch of no the next day.

  • I am hoping that most of the "nos" will come closer to the due date since the people coming have a better idea right away and send in their yes responses
  • I still haven't sent mine out! Am I super late!? They re going out this weekend but I'm with you hoping for a few nos. we have money for who we invited but it be nice to have so e wiggle room for some extras! :)

  • I'm with you.  Even though we invited a ton of people, I'm hoping some say no.

We can afford to host all of them, however it would be nice not to have to spend that much.

  • I'm hoping for some nos too, but we are planning as thought we'll have 100% attendance, just to be safe.

  • I just wish more people would find the darn mailbox.  Come on people, mail the cards back already!!!  Who's with me on this?
I completely agree they come in batches of yes and no.  One day I will get a trickle of yes and then next day all no.  It would be great if a few out of towners said no because the logistics are already difficult.
  • We've gotten about 10 or 15 back and they're all yesse.. the group i was kind of "banking on" being NOs (about 10 out of town family) have started sending back yes.. YIKES!

  • We haven't sent invitations or gotten any RSVPs back yet, but I'm definitely hoping for some no's. Not because we can't afford to host them all (because we can), but because if we get 100% attendance, our venue will be a little crowded. It can hold the number of people that we invited, it'd just be nice to have a bit more room!

This. And I am wishing for all "yeses."  So, I guess I am not the norm here. But I know some people can't make it.

[QUOTE]Yes!  I'm worried too.  We can afford to host everyone, but it'll be tight on space with 100% attendance.  There were a few obligatory people we had to put on (uncles/aunts/cousins we never see and are not close to) and I'm kind of hoping they don't use my wedding as a time to reconnect with the family. :)

THIS! I was pretty much forced to invite FMILs friends 'because they would be offended' and FIs extended family he hasn't seen in years. Famous words of FMIL: "don't worry they won't come"... Well I have to pay for them if they do woman! We can afford it, but it'll make our budget and reception space a little tighter. Here's hoping these people she claims won't come don't!
  • I'm worried too. When we originally compiled the guest list, my dad and stepmom told me that there's no way my dad's five siblings and their SOs would come. Well, it turns out that they're all thinking of this as a family reunion ... they're all planning on coming. We invited 151, and are seriously now expecting about 140. Def only wanted 125 ... Oh well!

My thoughts exactly. I sent out 136 and my venue can only hold 130.. I figured at LEAST 6 people would be no's but so far I have 75 yes's..
  • We are in the same place...but if we end up with more than our "ideal" number, we are fully prepared to host everyone.  I'm just a little bummed because we haven't gotten any back in a few days and it's driving me crazy!  LOL  It's funny, the people I anticipated would wait until the last minute to mail theirs, sent them right away...those I figured we'd have back by now, nope...nuttin!  People definitely surprise me sometimes!
