Since we've got a FatherDaughter dance post going on, what are some of your guys doing for the MotherSon dance? FI hasn't found any songs that stand out just yet.

I am at a loss with this one too. The way it is looking, I don't think that my fiance AND his mom even want to do one and I am serious about it...that's what they told me.

My FI is so far from thinking about this, we won't decide until way closer. Right now I'm trying to explain why choosing our menu to fit our budget is important. He also protests that the tuxes don't need to be figured out until a month before.....baby steps

FI is picking. Does it make me horrible that I really don't care? FMIL has been such a pain about everything, I am kind of hands off when it comes to things that involve her.

I am in the same place as you right now. I am so sick and tired of my FMIL's shiit that unless he brings it up, I'm not going to. It may sound bitchy but I think it is okay for me to do this one bitchy thing when she does hundreds!!!

At FI's cousins recent wedding when they did the mother/son dance FI pointedly said I'm not doing that and I said yes you are...so we'll see...

FI said he's on the fence about doing one, he'd like do but he doesnt think his mom really wants to. He hasn't decided on a song yet and his mom is being kinda....for lack of better words.....sassy and well, annoying about everything to do with our wedding. He has 2 older brothers, one is essentially in a common law marriage (been living with his gf for like 9 years and they have been "engaged" for about 3 with no plans) and the other one was married but at a very low key backyard type thing down in Texas about 12 years ago. Weddings aren't really her thing EVEN THOUGH she works as a host or whatever type thing for a reception hall that does big weddings all of the time.

I'm kind of letting him take the reigns on this one and if they don't end up doing one, I'm not going to be upset. I did tell him though, that I'm doing a song with my dad and I just hope that it won't be one of those things where she doesnt feel like she wants to do one until my dad and I do ours, then it'll be too late and she'll feel bad.
