When chosing invitations.....????

So I'm torn in picking my invites. I found a site that has them cheaper then local. I ordered samples and the are lovely. I get to edit a bunch of stuff and found them in a wedding mag.

Now, just so you can provide better input. I am having a Sunday, 3pm outdoor wedding, but it's pretty formal. Men are in tux, woman all chiffon floor length. Wedding is on reception grounds, which is a ballroom and pretty fancy. (Way fancier then my family would ever do for a wedding. Majority of receptions my family holds are at our Elks club.)

So, while looking at the invites, I'm trying to keep the cost reasonable as budgeting, and there are a few that I'm in love with and close in price range.

There is the white formal kind with embossed daisies and response card seperate.

Then there is this newer kind, that is called a seal and send. It fold up on itself, you sticker it to close and send. No outter envelops and more "Green", then the response card is a tear off post card style.

I think I'm being overly paranoid on things looking "Right". Am I insane? What would you pick?

I say pick what you like the most and are comfortable with spending.

When we picked out our invitations- we just browsed until we found one that we really loved and we just picked that one.

What Schatzi said is very true. Your invitation is supposed to set the tone for the formality of the wedding.

I know I might be afraid of some of my family and friends not dressing formal enough because of the time of day. So for that reason I might choose more formal invitations. However, I think you should probably choose whichever one you like best regardless.

I agree, the Invitation is generally the first clue to your guests about what your wedding entails. If your have a very formal wedding I would go for a very classic invitation. I would maybe also write Black Tie on the right hand bottom corner so people would know also that it's not a jeans and a t-shirt affair but a Tux and cocktail dresses. You could mention it on your website if your having on and including a card in your invs. Hopefully those who don't check the site will hear about the attire through workd of mouth.

They are both nice. I personally like the second one better, but thats just me. It is more formal and if you want to hint at the formality to your guests then that might be a good idea.

I really like them both but I think the second one is more formal. I think the first is a cute idea but more casual.
