Mother-in-law @ Bachelorette Party?

We recently sent out the evite for my bachelorette party and my mother-in-law is upset she wasn't invited. My own mother was not invited nor did she want to be invited. I don't know why she would even want to be there. It's my bridesmaids and I and a few close friends. Anyone else inviting their mother-in-laws to their bachelorette party?

I am a recent MOB and recent MOG. No, your MIL doesn't need to be there and she'll just have to get over it.  While she might have a great time and you might actually find it's fun too, you just don't need to invite her to something like this. It's ok for you and your friends to go out and have a fun night by yourselves.  You know, she'll either get over it or she won't and the choice will be hers (and I mean that - the choice to accept it and move on, or not, is hers) .  Go have fun with your friends.

Both my mother and MIL came to my Bach Party, but its a little different than your situation as we went to Vegas for the weekend.  But we would have dinner with the Mamas and then just me and my girls would go out.  I think had I had it local I may have invited her to dinner or something but certainly not to whatever was gonna happen afterwards.  PP is right, it is up to her whether or not she gets over it.  This always baffles me when a Mother/MIL wants to be present at the Bach party, I just don't understand it.

My FMIL is invited to mine, but we're just doing a girls' night in and lingerie shower, so there's not going to be any drunken antics or anything. (I mean, I do plan to drink, but not everyone at the party will and I'm not going to get drunk)

Maybe you could plan a lunch with her or with both the mothers so she feels like she got to be included in some way.

Thanks girls for the advise and a lunch sounds like a great idea!
