Courts- I'm not the biggest fan of mashed potatoes either. I'll eat them, but they're not my favorite. DH thinks I'm weird.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Lies Revealed! : This is the normal reaction when I tell people!!! I will eat pasta with alfredo sauce, but the powder-to-cheese image from the 80's will always ruin the idea of yellow cheese for me! Another foodie fact about me: I've only had mashed potatoes once, and I didn't like them--the first time I tried them was 3 years ago, and I'm 30 now. I'll just never eat them again. FI even mixes his mashed potatoes and mac and cheese together...I just have to walk away, it just grosses me out.

    1.  I was a vegetarian for 5 years.-  This is actually true!  I stopped actually right before I met FI because it was just too difficult to plan healthy meals while I was so busy working and in school.  I've thought about going back to it but haven't done it.

    2.  I slept with someone who is now one of FI's groomsmen and he doesn't know about it.  Lie

    3. I haven't been completely honest with FI about how much I spent on the wedding.- True.  He would probably freak out if he knew the real number.  He knows most of it but not all of it.

[QUOTE]#1   My DH broke up with me when we dated the first time to go teach English to Children in China - Yep.... this actually happened.  No, he never actually went. #2   I was a state gold medal winning french horn and piano player.  - Believe it, folks.  It's true. #3  I'm afraid of heights   - Lie.   Puhlese,  my Facebook pic is of us standing on top of one of the highest peaks in Breckenridge....  AND I want to skydive so bad!!

I went skydiving when I was 19 and it was a blast!  I plan on diong it again but I need to lose a few more lbs because you have to be below a certain weight.

#1.  One of my goals in life is to visit every state.  I only have about 20 left to visit and most are on the west coast, including California.   This is one of our goals but I've only visited 6 if you don't count the states that were a layover or where we only crossed the border for a t-shirt because we were right there.  Besides Alaska (and the layover in Seattle, I think- I may be making this up as I was 5 when we went), New Mexico is the western most state I have visited.

#2.  When I first started dating DH I had no idea how old he was: I had heard everything from 18 to 36 (from his friends, not him).  I found out 6 weeks into dating though.  True.  He asked if I wanted to join him and some friends for his birthday party (not as in a date) so I did.  The first person to come up and say Happy Birthday said "How old are you now?  36?"  There was laughter and a "Yes".  Then someone else was joking how smart he was because he has a college degree and was just now turning 18.  Him buying a beer should have tipped me off (I just now thought of this, honestly) but everyone was throwing out ages all through the night and there was nothing differentiating them.  I never even gave it much thought; if he was 18 then I was 2 years older than him and if he was actually 36, then dang he looks good for his age.  I never gave it another thought until our Valentine's date when we became official so when I asked him he just died laughing.  He was turning 27 that night and was in complete and udder shock that I had just turned 20.

#3.  I love my job!  No that would be way easy. Through out high school and part of college, my intended path in life was journalism and had plans to go to OU.
True.  I was accepted to their version of Honors College, had my housing situation somewhat settled (my grandmother had even bought stuff for the bathroom) and then a month or so before HS graduation my mom decided she didn't want to be a mom, kicked me out and kept my car.  My world was turned upside down and my grandpa said he would pay my first year of tuition if I stayed in the area and went to a junior college; in the end he did not pay.  I stayed because I thought it was dumb/not plausible for me to pay out of state tuition for basics (not judging anyone who did, I was just a fish out of water and didn't know what I was doing and did not have much guidance) so my plan was to get my basics and then transfer to OU and major in journalism.  Long story less long: that did not work out, I stayed in the area and while I do miss what could have been a tad bit, I wouldn't have met DH had my plans worked out so I'm okay with it.

    1. When I was in HS my boyfriend at the time was arrested for sexually assualting another student. True.  She accused him of rape.  He was arrested and couldn't post bail.  She later confessed that it was consensual (sp).  But, he had just turned 18 and she was 15 - so he was still charged with statutory rape.  He told me he never touched her.  I have no idea what was true, but if he's right, she really sucks, because he did time for that crime.  She did her best to avoid me until I graduated and left for college.

    2. My mom thought I was a boy up until I was actually delivered - and was surprised that I was actually a girl. True.  My boy name was Michael David.

    3. I actually went to SMU for my first year of college, but failed out and ended up going to Tech. FALSE.  My "dream" school was SMU, but I come from a pretty poor family, so there was no way I could have attended SMU without drowning myself in college loan debt.  I was accepted, though.  I wouldn't change it, though.  I bleed red and black and that's where I met DH.  :)

1.I never can remember FI's birthday. We've been together for 6 1/2 years. I know approximately when it is, but not the exact date.
I'm horrible. :( I have two days and can never remember which one it is. Thanks to Amazon, I can normally get it right.

    2. I was a baton twirler. I was pretty good at it too! I won state in 1996. I've even twirled fire. I was coached by several Ms. Texas and Ms. Oklahoma winners.
Yup, loved it! I was amazing at it. One day I was tired of the coaches playing favorites and quit.

    3. I was recently interviewed on tv while I was in the Bishop Arts District by a news crew. They were doing a store on awnings and the fees associated with them.  LIE! They were however interviewing tons of people about the awnings...Must have been a slow news day.

I went to SMU and while I love the school, I do regret all the student loan debt I accumulated by going there.  And I only went there two years and went to community college for my basics.  I still didn't get out of there without a ton of debt!

We had this discussion on the beauty board awhile back.  I mentioned that I rub my cuticles every night with Vitamin E oil so I won't pick them.  It helps keep them from getting dry (which leads to the picking!)  If I do have a bad one, I use Neosporin in place of the oil.

    1. I am (verrrry distantly) related to Katie Holmes. So, technically speaking I am also related (-ish) to Tom Cruise.* Lie. My family is from Toledo Ohio though, where Katie Holmes was born and raised and when I was around 13 my aunt drove me by the house she grew up in and told me that we were distantly related. I believed it and found out waaaaaay later that she was kidding! 2. I cheated on my Spanish final in college the semester before I graduated. If I wouldn't have cheated, I would have failed the class and would not have graduated.* Unfortunately true. I was scared of letting my family down and mad at myself for not putting forth my best effort. I was desperate and stupid. 3. I hit a car (lightly) while driving when I was about 17 and they pulled over and I just kept driving.* True. I rear ended a car on the highway and I got scared and nervous so when they pulled over I drove off quickly. Their car got it worse than mine, mine had very slight damage. For months after it I was waiting for cops to show up at our door arresting me for a hit and run.

I did a similar thing. I was 18, at a stop sign and I looked down to call someone from my contacts. The person in front of me went forward like they were going to turn onto the road and then didn't. I rear-ended them right as they pulled out into the road. I was scared and didn't know what to do, so I backed up into the neighborhood and drove through the neighborhood streets for 30 minutes, scared to death. I feel really bad about it now.

    1.  I have a collection of over 300 Barbies still in their boxes.  True - I actually own about 400 or more and their all still in the original boxes.  I've been collecting since 1989!

    2.  I had 3 parts of my intestines taken out when I was younger.  True - I have a something rare called Puetz Jeghers Syndrome, only 1 in 125000 people have it.  At the time, I was so drained/sick from this that MD Anderson removed 3 parts of my intestines.  I have a long, vertical scar in the middle of my stomach. YAY I'm in great health now, just have to monitor it every 5 yrs!

    3.  I started dating my FI before my divorce was final from my 1st husband.  Lie - We knew each other because we worked in the same group, but we didn't start dating until after my divorce was finalized.

I didn't participate yesterday so here are mine since this one is active.

1-I HATE mashed potatos of any kind as well as baked potatoes!  YUCK! However, give me fries and  you'll be my friend!! (funny thing is I am wanting to serve them at my wedding)

2-I have been to three different colleges. I started out at TCC NE than went to UNT for a year. I thought it was perfect-move out from home but still be close. However, I had an incident with my roomie in the dorm there. The semester I had hard classes I was studying left and right. I needed to go into the study room in the dorm for everyone to use and she wouldn't let me (for whatever reason) I got so mad at her and started yelling at her. She told the office I beat her up. I was kicked out of the dorms there. So for the time being I was homeless and had to stay at a friend's apartment. I moved back home a couple days later and commuted for the rest of the semester. I went back to TCC in the fall to get my grades up, and then transferred to Tech. I know someone said things work out for a reason-so true! If the incident at UNT didn't happen, I would have never met FI....well also if he hadn't sent his A&M application in late either!

    3-I can't think of anything else :(

Can I just say that I am impressed with ya'lls honesty. I too have "had relations" with a married man. I was so devasted to ever tell anyone, but one night I opened up and told my FI everything after we had only been together for 3 months. I knew he was the one because I wanted to be completely honest with him. I told him things that no one else knows. We don't keep anything from each other and thats what will make our marriage work.

Serlace- I flunked out of my first college (I was a bit of a party girl and found myself drinking every day) and ended up at Tech. True story :)

I have never been with a married man, but I've seen what a toll it can take on a person.  My twin was dating a guy and found out he was married when his wife sought her out while she was at work to tell her that the guy she was seeing was her husband.  She immeadiately broke it off with him.  A week later she found out she was pregnant with his baby.  She was so heartbroken.

I was also supposed to be a boy!  My mom had to have an emergency c-section and woke up and found out she had two girls instead!  My boy name would have been Tanner Elijah

Jordan- a girl I grew up with had something similar happen with her and her oldest son's dad.  He was married, she meet in class at school.  They had a group porject and they were in the same group.  He always had the group over to work on the project at his apartment.  She had never seen any pics of another girl or heard of a wife or anything.  He asked her out towards the end of the semester.  They dated for about 1 1/2 years and he asked her to move in.  She never found anything to be suspision of but after she moved in he was gone a lot "studying" at the library and gone to his parents on the weekends.  She found out she was pregnant a few months after they moved in and when she told him he said "that sucks because my wife is having a baby and our other one is 2 and I just can't be here for ya" and he left.  Never heard from him or anything again after that.  She ran into him and his wife at the doctor one day and called him out in front of her.  Now he is divorced and paying child support to both women.
