Today is dragging

I haven't had a day this slow in a while. WFL? WFD? What are your plans this evening? How is the weather? Anything else?

Re: Today is dragging

  • I posted about meal planning at the same time!

    But yes, today is dragging.

I'm having chick fil a for lunch right now and then I'll make sloppy joes after I get home.

  • Dinner will be leftover chicken and rice (yellow rice, my favorite).

It's pretty stormy out right now. The ride home will be a slow and cautious one. But we really, really need the rain. Here's to hoping it puts out some of the fires.

Veggie burgers are for dinner, I already had lunch. I might do bbq potatoes with it, depending on where my calories are at. When im done work I have to take pants in to be hemmed, then I need to water my garden, then maybe work out. Fuuunnn!

I love rice. Maybe I'll do turkey meatballs and rice for dinner.
  • Dinner's going to be Italian.  I'm going out with a high school friend tonight.  I'm excited.

  • Dinner is pasta carbonara with a black pepper fettucine. I should be going to the gym after work but nothing exciting planned.

Sorry I can't be more interesting!

  • Dinner is baked chicken parm and stuffed mushrooms if I have time.

I have lots to do at work but no motivation. Tonight I have to walk the dog, go to VB at the bar, and also do items off of H and I's new "cleaning schedule" Woop.

Heres a view into my stupid brain: I need to get my pants hemmed, there is a stitch it place at the mall near my house and the big mall across town. Should I take it to the little mall today because its closer to home OR take it to the big mall across town where I was planning to go to on friday for a little white cardigan to wear to the wedding on saturday. Either way, Im planning to pick up the pants on Friday, but I really dont feel like going out of my way today. That said, Id hate to have to go to two places on friday when I could potentially just go to one. Im going to agonize over this all freaking afternoon.

For lunch I had lemon pepper tuna on crackers and an apple with string cheese. Surprisingly, I'm pretty full from it (the apple was pretty large).

For dinner we're having tacos - ground turkey, guacamole, salsa, cheese, and a dab of sour cream, with refried beans on the side. I even picked up some Corona and limes.

Not much going on this evening. H is picking up his friend from the airport, then coming home to pick up H's friend's dogs to return them to him. I can't wait to clean the house top to bottom and get rid of the dog smell. It'll be nice to have our house back.

  • Lol, you're funny Nebb :)

I'm going to buy some new workout clothes after work tonight - just a pair of shorts and a top and maybe a pair of spandex pants.  I probably won't need the pants for a while though, since the high on Saturday for my 10k race is like 80 degrees.  Other than that, leftover enchiladas for dinner, I have to clean the kitchen, and I'm going to go to the gym, followed by watching Days on the DVR and passing out hopefully before 1am :)

  • Today is dragging. It's terrible.

I finally get to pick up my truck from the body shop tonight, and I can't wait to have it back! They've had it for just over 3 weeks now, and I miss having my own vehicle. When I get home, we'll probably have left over goulash and a salad for dinner, then I'm going to sit on my fat ass until it's time to go to bed. I slept like shiit last night, so I'm thinking bed time will come very early tonight.

Im off work on friday so I CAN go any time during the day and skip rush hour traffic, I should have added that. The thing that also sucks about friday is I have to take the dog to the vet and the appointment is not far from the big mall, so essentially I have to drive over there twice that day alone. I dont leave the dog in the car under any circumstances so I have to drive out twice.

    Gah.

I went to Trader Joe's and just picked up some stuff for lunch.

For dinner I think I'm going to make mushroom and zucchini tacos.  Then we have to rush out to go to a show because it's our friend's birthday.   I'm just gonna stay and have a drink and then leave.  I don't really want to go out tonight.

Our decks just got done (cleaned and stained) and they look great.  I just want a free night to put our deck furniture and grill back on them and get it out of our second bedroom.

I also want to get back to planting my plants.  So far I've only had time to replant my green beans, cucumbers and arugula (not sure if my arugula is going to make it though, but I have faith that I can bring it back).

And I'm getting stressed out because from now until the end of October, H and I have like 4 weekends available to do stuff.  Every other weekend is booked.  About half the effing weekends are filled with weddings, bach parties and showers (bridal and baby).  I normally love summer, but right now I hate it.

Sorry, that was a little whiney and long....

[QUOTE]I'm eating random crap for dinner tonight. I'm trying to get rid of all of the perishables before we leave. So I have about a quart of milk left, some kale, a couple apples, 2 onions, a cucumber,  a butternut squash, some cheddar cheese, 4 eggs, 6 whole wheat pitas,a pint of  1/2 and 1/2 and about a quart of buttermilk. It's going to be a very interesting 2 days of meals.

Some of those could make a killer fattening mac and cheese, depending on how you use them.
  • I ate at Rock Bottom today. I freaking love Chick Fil A and I'm still bitter they left from the local mall downtown. They were always busy so it doesn't even make sense!

Tonight is whatever mom is making. I seriously can't wait until I don't have to say that anymore.

Ha! A co-worker of mine just suggested that we have lunch at Rock Bottom in a couple of weeks when we're downtown for a volunteer event. I've never been, is it good?

  • Hey guys- dinner is probably left over italian enchiladas. I actually decided to finish out the day at home (so, outside trying to get just a little color)

I have training all day tomorrow and thursday, I really hope it is interesting. I don't do well with classes- my attention span is about the first hour of the day and then I am just done.

Yeah, it's really good! They have a big variety of food to choose from and they're not too expensive. I was boring and got a cheeseburger today but they have this chicken and macaroni dish that is <strong><u>to die for</u></strong>. My cousin got it today and the server informed us it's their most popular menu item.

Their pizzas are also really good and perfect for sharing between two people. They also have a brewery attached if you're into beer. FI likes theirs.

  • Today is going slow for me too, the afternoon should pick up though because my boss finally gave me the last few items I was waiting on to finish my work.

I'm having leftover Pei Wei for lunch.  H and I are planning to go to the gym then do a quick grocery shopping trip tonight for the rest of the week.  I'm not really looking forward to it, I just want to go home and relax since I didn't sleep that great last night, but we definitely need food, so grocery shopping it is.

I keep having to curb my desire to eat something really decadent this week in light of a wedding buffet and food truck event this weekend. The anticipation of those two things is making me so damn hungry and nothing seems to compare.

The food truck association in my area (southern ontario) do these "food truck eats" events to sort of create buzz and awareness because they have so many hurdles from city hall's in the cities they are trying to operate in. This weekend they are doing one in my area at a big winery, there are going to be 16 trucks and tons of wine!

I'm sure! It's just that I've never lived outside the home and I'm done with it all. That and I know I won't be stuck with all of the cooking. FI loves it. We do most of it together when I go over but sometimes, he'll make me curl up on the couch and watch TV while he cooks for me. Even brings me a glass of wine.
