Oh, cool, then it might night even be an issue for me. Mine will be pretty small, so I can cover it with my watch at work.
  • My sister waffled about getting a tattoo for the longest time. We had gone to shops together countless times and she always chickened out. Then, on her birthday, she and her husband went out to dinner, and on a whim they hit up a tattoo shop. She had him write "I love you" on a piece of paper, and the tattoo artist inked it on her wrist. I love that idea. I just wish I had thought of it first lol.

  • Hey guys! Just got back from yet another expensive target trip and burgers at Granite City. We also stopped by Lowes to looks at kitchen sinks and faucets.

I want to show my tattoo, but it is hard to take a picture of it. It is a pink hibiscus flower and a K in my writing next to it. In the exact middle of my back, an inch or two under the bra strap. I got it in college just to get one.

My best friend is in love with tattoos- she got paws on her boobs and then got "foxy lady" tattoo'd on her hip in seventies style writing. lol

Needles near the eyes freak me out. ever see people who have actal eye tattoos? blegh!
  • I like the "I love you" idea, but I couldn't get something that associated with H. I'm too much of a cynic. He's the same way.

I can't decide between "To live would be an awfully big adventure" and "Lead me to the land I dream of." Both are from Peter Pan. The first is from the book (Peter actually says both to live and to die would be an awfully big adventure, at different parts of the book) and resonates a lot with me, in that for a long time I didn't believe that. The second is from the Disney song Second Star to the Right. It's actually "Lead us to the land we dream of" but I changed it. It's fitting in both the writing sense and how much that means to me, and that it's on my foot, literally "leading" me.

They are both long, so I'm not sure how they would fit on my foot. Luckily, I have big feet.

    Hi!

Definitely no tattoos here.  I'm about to have a panic attack just reading about everyone else's.  I am terrified of needles to a completely irrational degree.

Good evening.  I just got back from taking FI his cell phone. He forgot it at home and he works until 11.  I just prefer the piece of mind that he has it in case something happened on his drive home.

On the way back I stopped and got a pita pizza.  So yummy.

ETA: I have two tattoos- a tribal heart (only way to describe it) with the  "Amor Vincit Omnia"
and then two hearts intertwined on my hip.

I regret both of them.  I regret the one on my foot mostly because of my profession.  I hate wearing dresses and skirts and being able to see it.

You could have it start on the back of your ankle, then curve down the outside of your foot. It'd probably fit that way. Kinda like this, but words instead of flowers:

Thats not too bad. I see a lot of pics on pinterest of dudes with tattoos all over their forehead or cheeks and shiit like that. Or like a spider on their neck.
  • Mehg, I don't really want it across the top of my foot, just along the side. I was thinking of breaking it apart a bit, like having "To live" or "Lead me" by the ankle and then the rest of it below, to have more room. I'll just have to talk to the tattoo artist when I actually go.

I also hate neck and face tattoos. They just don't look good to me. I do see them a lot in H's profession though. Most people are surprised that H doesn't have any.
  • Hey ladies!

Waiting on H to get home from work, he's later than usual so he's picking up Subway for dinner. I hate eating this late.

No tattoos here. I thought about it for a minute a few years back when I dated someone with quite a few, I had my eye on a fairy on a moon. But, I changed my mind and I'm glad I didnt.

H wants his Navy dolphins on his arm.

Oh, that also reminds me of a few years ago when some students at the HS on Gallaudet's campus (Model Secondary School for the Deaf) bullied another student by holding him down and drawing swastikas on him with a marker.  It was really horrible :(

  • No tats here. I just don't have a desire to get one. Not afraid of needles, I just can't think of anything that I'd want on my body permanently.

I can't speak for other branches of the services, but if you have any gang-related/offensive tattoos (visible while in uniform or not), you can't enlist. There's a whole page of tattoos that aren't allowed for recruiters to use as reference when people try to sign up.

For a while there, we weren't allowed to have more than 25% of the area between our wrist and elbow tattooed, but thankfully they did away with that a few years ago. I'm hoping they don't try to enforce that again, that was miserable. We had to do a lot of paperwork going into the permanent records of people with full sleeves being grandfathered in.

I ate at First Food & Bar a couple times, and enjoyed everything I had there (Dr. Pepper pulled pork egg rolls were my fave, the grilled cheese & tomato bisque was great for lunch, seafood salad was nice and fresh). I also ate at the Grand Luxe Cafe for breakfast a few times, which is basically the Cheesecake Factory but more casual. I was there on business for a conference, so I was on a pretty tight budget for per diem on my meals, and didn't have much time for dining in between sessions. Otherwise I would've been living the high life, riding around in gondolas and shiit lol.
