Wedding Woes

763 American dollars later...

...and we still don't know what's wrong with the cat. They did an ultrasound of her chest and abdomen. The chest mass is within lung tissue and can't be touched without a cardiologist. There was a small mass in her abd that they were able to get a needle aspirate on, which returned as a lymph node but 'highly reactive' so her immune system is fighting something. All her blood work came back normal, which is incredible being how sick she is.

So the internist is consulting with the cardiologist today to see if he feels the chest mass is the problem or it's a red herring and they have to start looking elsewhere. He mentioned the possibility of lymphoma, bowel disease or some other GI problem. They may have to do an endoscope or exploratory surgery. With just a visit, blood work and an ultrasound costing $763 I think I'll need to take out a second mortgage for any surgery. Ugh. So I'm working from home and waiting for a call, if the cardiologist wants to see her I can race right up there. The place was really nice, modern and I liked the vet, so hopefully they will come up with an answer without killing poor Schmoo or my finances.

Oh, and I thought of WW. There was a woman who came in to pick up her cat. She was fairly old and had leg warmers on. Yes, blue and white snowflake design leg warmers. I tried to snap a picture but she was too far away. I will try to do better next time.

Ugh.  Good luck...I feel your pain as I just ran my year-end Quicken report to do my taxes and was floored at how much I spend on my animals.  Care Credit might help.  I have an awesome vet who will check to see the minimum amount needed for 6 or 12 month interest free financing is and then put that amount or more on the Care Credit account so we have a credit with their office and can just keep drawing down off that and have extra time to pay off the balance to Care Credit.

Extra vibes to you and kitty - I know how hard it is.

Ugh, it sucks waiting for answers. Sorry you have to go through such a frustrating event. Hopefully the cardiologist can figure out what's wrong without you having to spend another small fortune.

In the meantime, give kitty lots of hugs and kisses! Unless kitty is still at the vet, in which case send lots of happy thoughts her way!

I actually have a Care Credit card, which has my recent Lasik on it. I haven't used it for years and now bam! two charges in one month. So I pretty much paid off my Lasik so I can free up credit for her vet bills. So much for paying off my Lasik over time!
