DJ Recommendations

We are beginning the quest for a reasonably priced DJ.  We have looked through the recommended vendors here, but we are limited by our budget.  Does anyone have any recommendations for a DJ that will cost us no more than $750?

Also - does anyone have any experience with DJ Tracy Painter from Entertainment Tonite?

We booked Andy Hutelmyer.  He charges $600 (or $650 I can't remember off hand).  He comes highly reccommended and I've personally used him the past.

hutelmyer at gmail dot com is his email address.

My DJ was $695 I believe- David Vint. He doesn't have a website, but I can get you his number when I get home, if you're interested. We were pleased with him overall- hard to get a hold of at times, but no other complaints. He and his wife also teach dance lessons.

FYI, Andy Booth's 2010 price is a little above the max that you quoted.  He comes highly recommended, though, and we are using him too!

Mine was $600, DJ John Padula. He did a great job and i had no major issues but if you dont want him having a couple drinks with dinner, tell him in advance.

I'm sorry, your DJ was drinking? Really? That is unprofessional!

Yeah, and I didn't find out until way later. his response was that it was "only a couple, and he was still able to do his job perfectly fine." and when i gave him my "review" of him when he asked why i wouldnt add him on facebook, DH got irritated with me and said that its over now and that he thinks its socially acceptable for the DJ to drink because of the surroundings.(i don't agree with this, i am not going to go clock in at work and start drinking socially acceptable or not)

He also said that I should have made him aware that i did not like the idea of his having a couple beers before the wedding started or when we were discussing the wedding in the months previously.

This is all interesting, because the info he sent me just this morning specifically says that "Ill leave the drinking to the invitees, and consume water, pop or juice only."

So far, only DJ Tracy Painter from Entertainment Tonite is willing to do our wedding within our budget.

Does anyone have experience with him?  He seems nice enough, but I would appreciate any reviews anyone can offer.
