Legal name on invitations

I'm not sure if I should put my legal first and middle name. I go by a shortened version of my middle name. I'm afraid if I do no one will know who I am. Any suggestions?

Re: Legal name on invitations

  • I would use your full legal name on the invitation.

However, in the return address, you could put the name you are known by.
  • Hmm... I was simply going to go first and last name... Never even thought to include my middle name.  Does one have to put their middle name?

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Legal name on invitations : Bopple, you are new to the boards.  I think you can learn a lot here.  In normal traditional wording the bride does not put her last name unless it differs from her parents' name.  If parents are not hosting, then the bride must use her full name.

My parents are divorced so I have the same last name as one of them but not the other.  We're not having a "formal" wedding by tradition so I don't know if I would send a very formally worded invitation.  Plus, if I put that my father and stepmother are hosting (they are paying for a great deal) my mother would feel diminished, not to mention the grooms parents.

I was wondering the same thing. My middle name is so long compared to FIs that it would look odd and hardly anyone knows my middle name.
