To see or not to see?

So, I'm sure this has been a post but I'm just too lazy to scroll down, sorry!!

Now that the weddings are getting closer, and we are having to prep all of our photography things, who is doing a first look and who is opting for traditional?

FI would like the traditional option, but I think we are going to have to do the first look. Since we have such a small wedding of only 25 people, I just don't want to take an hour after the ceremony to do all the pictures. So I think we will do the first look (will help with my nerves too) and get most done before, and then just more bride/groom shots at the dinner location after the ceremony. That way we can chat with our guests during the apps/drinks part before dinner since we will be at one long table and it won't be the easiest to talk to everyone during dinner. FI will just have to deal, but he's pretty easy going! I think my mom will be the most disappointed haha

We'll be doing a first look. I think it'll be a nice way to get some time together and share our excitement. I also like the idea of having more time more pictures doing it this way as well.

We are doing a first look! FI was nervous about this because he wants to have the emotion of seeing me walk down the aisle, but I still think we will have that emotion when I walk down the aisle and during the ceremony. At the end of the day we want to be with our guests enjoying the wedding from the minute cocktail hour starts and until the reception is over. I love the idea of a first look because it allows for a private moment between you and FI, and you can get all of the pictures done before the ceremony

Another first look here! It'll save time, allow us to see guests during cocktail hour and help calm my nerves. My sister didn't and she said she felt like vomiting until she saw her husband and wished they had done it.

We are not. Honestly, it wasn't discussed much. My mom really wanted my sister to be traditional, I know, but that wasn't happening (didn't get married in a church, did a first look). When it was my turn, we knew we were doing the church and not doing a first look was sort of assumed. So we sort of went along with it. I'm actually pretty excited about having him have that seeing me walk down the aisle moment, and also for the anticipation of seeing him for the first time that day up at the altar. I do wish we'd have a little more time to take it in like we would with a first look, though.

This blog post is amazing! It had all the fears I had on why we were unsure if we should do a first look... those photos are amazing, and I can't wait for our first look moments to be captured!

We aren't doing a first look. Idk why, but I always kind of just knew I didn't want one and never even considered it. The moment of the doors opening, and the piano/organ combo of "here comes the bride" starting up, with everyone standing up and then me stepping out is how I've always pictured my husband seeing me for the first time on our wedding day. Of course I wish there was some way to spend more time together that day without doing a first look, but until they start adding more hours to the day I don't think thatll happen lol

We will be. We'll even probably start to get ready together before I put my dress on. We are having a small wedding of about 30 guests too, so I really didn't want to leave after the ceremony for pictures either.

This photog puts it all very well. And it seems that all other photogs (the people that do this all the time) vote for the first look as well.

We're doing a first look. Our ceremony and reception are in the same room and the turnover takes under 5 minutes so I'd feel odd cutting out for pictures.

We're definitely doing a first look! I know I will be a sobbing, sloppy mess and I want to make sure the makeup artist is still around to fix me back up once I'm done crying. lol

Honestly, though, given my anxiety disorder, I NEED a first look. My anxiety will, no doubt, be through the roof by then and FI is always able to calm me down. I don't think it will take away from his look during the actual ceremony at all.
