David's Bridal trial dress?

I went to Davids Bridal yesterday and found a dress I love!  The sales associate told me it was one of their trial dresses and she explained to me that only four stores in the country had it.  Furthermore, she told me that it would only be available in those stores (not online or in other stores) for just a few weeks.  Basically the company is testing the waters to see if brides are interested in that style before they mass produce it.   Basically, if I want it, I have to act fast because of limited availability.  Has anyone else experienced this or have any more information?

  • Yes, it's true.  My consultants told me that they're called demo dresses because, as you said, they're testing them out to see if people like them or not.  The dresses that flop are then discontinued, and there's no telling when/if that will happen.  If you really like it and think it's "the one", then go ahead and buy it.

  • I bought it today! It's perfect!  I'm getting married back in my hometown which is 11 hours away from where I currently live.  One plus to my "preview dress" purchase is no one from my home will have the same one!
