Workout Accountability: Friday

Morning ladies!  TGIF!

How is everyone doing on their goals?

I am having the ultimate one-man pity party this AM. Scale not down, FI wouldn't let me sleep in AGAIN because he was up and stirring about (I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in about 8 days now), and couldn't even make it 2 miles running this morning thanks to the blaring sun and my headache/exhaustion.  Bad mood all around.  On to weights with a friend then beach day.  I need sleep.

Have a great weekend!

  • Aw, Lobsters!  I hope your weekend goes better!

I had an awesome workout last night.  I met FI at the gym after work.  I did 35 minutes of elliptical and 35 minutes of weights.  It felt so good.  And I was awesome with calories...that's been up and down for me so I was happy.  I hope I can do well this weekend when I visit family...since we bond over food, it's always hard.  I'm getting my underthings for my dress this weekend and my mom and I are going to look at MOB dresses.  Should be fun!

  • Lobsters, you deserve a big nap! Date night was cancelled due to mil not being able to watch the kiddo last night but we will do it tonight instead. Kind of annoyed after I made an effort to burn extra calories yesterday but whatever. We did biceps this morning and no time for a run because I have to go to work.

Lobsters sorry to hear that you're not having a good morning. The scale will come down just give it time. I hope you get some rest in this weekend.

As for me I put about 30 minutes in on the bike last night today is a rest day.

I also discussedwith FI the possibilities of me going vegetarian. Note my doctors have advised me not to due to my dietary restrictions. We've decided to start cutting my meat intake. Note I already eat a very produce laden diet. I will go to eating meat 1-3 days a week and that meat will be mostly free range. I'm going to convert the eggs we eat as well. I just really dont like the meat industry that we have. It really bothers me how our country has gone with its approach to food.

  • Morning,

Lobsters-that sucks-I feel you on the not sleeping well. Yesterday I was in such a daze I asked my boss if I could sleep in and come in later-she is awesome and agreed. I got an extra hour of sleep- not much but wow was it what I needed, I have not slept more then a few hours at a time in a week and a half due to the heat.
I'm thinking an air conditioner is going on my registry!

Last night I wanted to spin, but was so tired, grumpy, hot I said eff it and vegged on the couch-not feeling guilty about it at all.

    tonight I'm spinning.

    Have a good weekend girls

  • Morning. Where I live has declared a heat emergency today. Not exactly sure what that means lol. Good thing I already got my work out outta the way!

Lobsters sorry you are having a frustrating day. I hate those bad run days. I usually chalk it up to dehydration/not eating enough. Gets me down though so I know what you mean!

Fluffernut I love, love, love those days where I can get a super long work out in. Makes me feel so good!

This morning I went to the gym. I lifted, back and abs. I upped my weight so that felt pretty good. I also ran 3 miles on the treadmill. It was so hot in the gym this morning I took a 1 min walking break at every mile to get some water. That slowed my pace down a little which sucked but I couldn't help it I was so thirsty. When I got home I entered my exercise into my fitness pal. I usually run between a 9:30 and a 9 min mile pace. There is no option for 9:30 and I don't want to over estimate my calories burned so I always enter in the 10 min mile pace because that is the next closest thing. So according to MFP I only burned 269 calories for 30 mins at a 10 min mile. This kind of frustrates me. I have never been a runner so running is still a challenge for me and I have to really push myself to get through 3 miles and I'm barely burning 250 calories! Ugh!

  • Hooray for Friday!

I've been feeling messed up all week because of the holiday being right in the middle. Sooo ready to be done with work for the day!

The foster kid I was supposed to work with yesterday cancelled on me, so I ended up having time to go to the gym and was quite shocked that FI tagged along! Love/hate relationship with him coming with me to the gym, because when he does I never get a long enough workout...but on the flip side I really want him to be healthy and he doesn't get nearly enough exercise!

I got 20 minutes on the stairmaster and 30 on the elliptical...no weights though. I think I'm going to make an extra trip to the gym tonight just for some weightlifting.

Everyone have a healthy & safe weekend!

    Happy Friday!!
I am super happy today, the scale is down again, a total of 12lbs now! Hoping to keep pushing along the next 2 months. I am starting to feel more like myself and starting to "like" myself again.
No major plans for the weekend. My dad had major surgery yesterday so I'm sure i'll spend some time with him. Hoping to stay on track with my running and diet.
    Have a great weekend!
  • jjswin  - Congrats!

I did pretty well yesterday, coming in right at my calorie goal and doing 20 mins of abs and arms with my Netflix video.

Not sure what this weekend will bring - probably alot more work and stress. I am really hoping I can be better about packing snacks and being good. I want to look at the scale Monday night and see if not a full pound lost this week, at least a solid 1/2 pound. Somehow, it's just so much more encouraging when to look and see a whole pound gone than a questionable fraction of a pound. I have some pants I really want to wear again. I am 10 1/2 months away from the wedding and am starting to really want to look at dresses.

  • Morning all!

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well Lobsters! I know how frustrating that can be, especially on days when you're allowed sleep in!

Today's the start of my weekend, so yay! I'm headed over to my grandparents' house today to help my Grandma put some things on kijiji... should be interesting. Then I've gotta go shopping for FI's birthday present (his bday is tomorrow) and two of my BFF's presents (their [twins] birthdays are on the 13th). Aye! I hate birthday present shopping. But I'm going to try to look like a strange person and walk at a good clip in the mall.

I might go for a run today, but I tweaked my knee a bit last night at work and I'm not too sure about running on it yet... so I'll feel it out and do whatever feels right!

    Have a good weekend everyone!

  • I've been trying to get into a better routine of regularly posting on here so hoping it will stick now that the holiday is over.

Excerise has been good these past 3 days even with the holiday doing insanity and going rock climbing for a few hours yesterday.

On the 4th I was so worried about snacking too much and eating too much bad food for me that I didn't even realize I had barely eaten the whole day that I was at the party and ended up waking up in the middle of the night starving and had to make a snack.

At the party it felt so good because so many people I hadn't seen in a while commented on my weightloss and to hear that other people are noticing is such a good motivator!

Trying to eat good today and hopefully get in another workout tonight after work!

  • Marston258...what video on Netflix? This week has been weird but I did manage to get in a couple of walks. Wanted to go before work this morning (it's been over 100 degrees so evenings are out) but my lil one is sick. No walk or work for me :(
  • I think it's just called 10 Minute Workouts - Toning. I found it by just searching for "workout". It's got this blond woman with a six pack on the front. My work computer won't let me look up the exact title. I like it because it's a 50 minute workout, but you can do as little as 10 minutes right at home and actually feel it.
Might need to do some of that today. I only have 400 calories left for dinner and it is 100 degrees out.  I don't even feel like I ate that badly today. I just don't have much of anything scheduled in for exercise.

  • Hi all!

It's great to see so many hard working ladies on here!

I just got back from the gym, did a 5K run and 30 minute circuit with weights (machine based). The fiance came with me, I totally out ran him, but I love it when he comes with me.

Chicken for dinner, with veggies again :-)
