Nj rustic/unusual venues?

Hi. Lookin for a venue that's rustic or unusual. Not the typical banquet hall or ball room. Preferably with an indoor/outdoor option. I've looked at ballyowen and loved it, stone house is expensive and a lot of bad reviews, raritan inn was small but nice and crossed keys has noise ordinance at 10 pm?. About 150 people and a 15 to 20k budget. Looking around northern nj but certainly open to traveling further. Thank you in advance!

  • I'm getting married at Valenzano Winery in Shamong, NJ. Our ceremony & cocktail hour are outside & our reception is in the 'Winemaker's Ballroom' which isn't your typical ballroom at all. There are tall windows along 1 wall, a big stone fireplace, the bar is all stone, & it has a bit of a rustic feel to it.

They also have a 2nd location up the street where you can have your ceremony outside by the vineyards, cocktail hour in a garden, & reception under a cute pavilion. You book them through a preferred caterer. We're using The Ultimate Caterers out of Marlboro.  CLICKY

<div>I second Perona Farms. That is where we are getting married and it is beautiful there, you can even have your reception in the barn if you want to.</div>

I contacted Perona about a month ago and they told me they don't hold receptions in the barn!

  • There is also the montclair museum . I'm not sure how that works but When i had to go to my pre cana I met a couple who were having there wedding there.
  • Perona Farms doesn't do the barn receptions anymore. But you can still do cocktail hour outside.
Also check out David's Country Inn and Skylands Manor.
  • Second David's Country Inn. Very unique place, we're getting hitched there in 5 months to the day! Good luck!

  • Skyview Golf Course and Lake Mohawk County Club are budget friendly and rustic-y. GL!

  • Take a look at Farmstead GC in Andover; not very far from Perona and the venue IS an old barn.  Pretty budget-friendly, too.
