Artistic Wedding Services - M.I.A. Photographer

I booked my photographer July 2009 for my wedding on June 19, 2010 (14 days!) and they have moved out of their studio, their voicemail is full and they have a "new" location that they are supposed to email me the address but I have not received it yet.  I'm not even sure at this point if they will show up for the wedding or I will ever get my photos.  I contacted a store that was located next to the studio and they said their are several people trying to find this company.  We paid them in full in July and on the contract it says that if we cancel they are to keep all money paid.  I want my money back and to find another photographer.  The company is Artistic Photography and they were located in Livonia, MI.  Has anyone else dealt with them or have any suggestions?  I'm really afraid to chance it with them.

    Google results don't even show the name of that company.  Is Artistic Photography the actual name of the company?

    i only saw a " Artistic Wedding Photos" company on plymouth in livonia. :/

    First- I am so sorry to hear that something like this is happening to you, this SUCKS and I am sure you don't need this stress in your life right now....with that being said I don't know anyone who has used them but maybe you should post their name as the title to your post because sometimes people won't click-on it unless they are familiar with the topic or company.....just a suggestion.

    Also, do you have a back-up photog in mind?? Can we help you look?

    First of all I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with this.  When was the last time you had contact with them?  

    Like previous people said I would post the name of the company in the post and see if you get any takers.  Also I would possibly check with the Better Business Bureau to see if they have anything to offer.

    I would also start exploring your options for back up plans.  I know it kind of sucks but I'm with you even if I did get a hold of them I would be really hesitant to use them because of this.  Good luck and let us know if you need recommendations.

    I met a photographer at a wedding last weekend from Artistic Creations (I think that was it, they're from around there too).  Nicole and Stephanie...sound familiar?

    I would also start calling other photographers and tell them what happened and see if they are available.  A lot of placed are willing to help when something goes horribly wrong.

    Thank you to everyone that responded.  I am so stressed right now and I really appreciate your help!
    They have changed there name several times:
    Artistic Wedding Photos
    Artistic Wedding Services - this is what they are new
    Artistic Photography
    The photographer's names are Nicole Walling, Ben Walling & Stephanie Montley.  Kellyg1015, I would imagine that this it was them that you ran into at that wedding. Do not book them if you were thinking about it.  
    Ms. Nobody, that's them!  At least that was their location they have moved and I'm not sure to where.  
    If heard from them on Thursday but it was vague and she tried to get me off the phone very quickly.  She told me she would email me their new location info but I haven't received it and the more I look online about they the more negative I find.  I checked the Better Business Bureau and in the last 12 months they have had 10 complaints!  I have a meeting today with Lennon Photo in Birmingham (recommended by my DJ) but I haven't really found much on them, so no news is good news?

    Good Luck!!!  Alarthame used Lennon Photo.  You could page her and she may be able to help more.

    The name they are going by now is Artistic Event Services. But I believe they have a couple different names going on.

    Just wanted to update on the situation.  My DJ recommended a photographer for me (Lennon Photography) and they were so nice to help us for our photos!!  They are really working with us!! My wedding is in 4 days and I can't wait!!

    They just opened a restaurant in Dearborn Heights called The Heights restaurant if you would like to find them. If you Google Nicole Walling, an article about it somes up. Hope that helps. Sorry you got treated so badly.

    I am glad you found out prior to your wedding. My husband and I were not so lucky. They took our money and our pictures. We now have no photos of our wedding. It breaks my heart that I now have no memories to show. I

    @ Alicia - I am so sorry to hear that happened to you!  They got away with our money but we were able to get another photographer.  There is a lawsuit with approx 20 couples so far against them, if you would like the info to join the lawsuit please let me know.  They have since closed their studio and restaurant in Michigan and moved to South Carolina.

    I got married in July 2009 - have yet to receive my pictures --I have absolutely no memories from my wedding...I really have never experienced anything like this before in my life.  I am not understanding how anybody can be this cruel to keep someones memories from them...I have not spoken to these individuals in a long time because there phones were all disconnected. But i did recently email Nicole (Dec 2010) and even stated to her can she just send me my disk, she did respond back and said she'd mail but I still have not recevied anything.  So now I just have no other recourse but to sue - to either get my pictures or my money....I will say that the pictures were beautiful but they are not professional in the aspect of respecting other people and providing them their photos from one of the most important days of someones life. 

    **If you can provide me the info. on the lawsuit I would appreciate it so I can join the rest of the couple trying to go after them.
