Friday Wedding-newbie

Hey everyone,
I need some suggestions. We're thinking about having a Friday evening wedding for budgeting reasons, therefore ceremony at 6 then reception from 730 or 8- 11 or so. The problem we're encountering is how to do pictures because we wanted that moment when he sees me to be at the aisle? Do we give up daytime shots just for that special moment?

Also we're worried about how it will effect our guests having it on a friday evening, any suggestions on how this turned out for anyone who's had a friday night wedding.
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Friday Wedding-newbie

  • Could you do most of your separate pictures before hand and then have pictures together afterwards? I've never been to a Friday wedding but I think it would be great. The only thing I would say is maybe to have the ceremony start a little bit later maybe at 7. This will give local guests time to get ready after work or school without being in a hurry.
  • we have moved our Friday night wedding to 7:30 and are offering an appetizer reception. Its a small wedding but we wanted to make sure people had plenty of time to relax after work. (or at least grab a bite) since 8:30 seems an awful long time to wait for dinner.
  • I'm getting married on a Friday at 6PM. If you want to get married on a Friday, you might consider planning for the summer [I don't know if you have a specific date in mind]. We're getting married June 11, which is one of the longest days of the year, so it will still be plenty light out for pictures and everything happening outside through the whole ceremony, picture taking, and reception.

  • We are getting married Friday, June 4th, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. I've had a lot of mixed emotions about this day/time. However, 3 years ago on this date, he said "I love you" for the very first time. So it has a very special meaning to me.
