Good Honeymoon Spot IN Wisconsin

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I are getting married in Septemeber and I was wondering if you could tell me of any good Honeymoon spots in your area. We are from Minnesota, He has never been to Wisconsin, so I thought maybe it would be a place to think about, any thoughts would be great.

Thanks,
Amy

Door County is gorgeous! Especially in fall!
I live in Northern WI (Eagle RIver) and there are a lot of nice resorts around here and Minocqua area.
There is a hotel in Milwaukee that has a private pool in your room, it looks amazing, I will have to look it up for you.  I know it starts with an S

Sybrus Pool Suites (in Meqoun)is what pp was refering to.  I'm hoping to honeymoon to a resort in Northern WI.  Door County is always a good choice.

What type of honeymoon were you hoping for?  Big city, outdoorsy?

What time of year are you looking to go... I agree with Door County for pretty much year round. We are going to go up there for our honeymoon in a few weeks and we are renting a cabin and it comes with snowmobile rentals and ice fishing and hot tubs and fireplaces and general seclusion.

I"m partial to Northern WI over Door County. I went to school in Ashland and love the surrounding areas. Fall is a great time to go up and tour all the orchards. The first weekend in Oct is Applefest in Bayfield. There are also some spas, cute little shops, quite a few restaurants, etc in Bayfield. There's lots of great parks/trails/waterfalls in the area. A few casinos if you're looking to go that route more than outdoorsy! There's a zoo in Duluth which is an hour from the Ashland area. I didn't spend much time in the UP, but if I'm remembering correctly it's an hour to MI as well.

You might want to check out Lake Geneva as well.  Lots of great resorts, and in decent proximity to Milwaukee, Madison, or Chicago if you wanted to take day trips.

I'll second Door County and Lake Geneva.

A few of my friends have honeymooned in the Dells.  They have some AI places (Chula Vista) and there is good hiking in Devil's Lake State Park.  The river-boat tours are actually very nice too.  Although most of everything else is pretty tacky.
Madison is an easy hour drive from there.

We are going down to Wisconsin Dells right after our wedding in September. The water parks will be closed for the year, but all the hotels have fun indoor waterparks!
