Christian Weddings

Hi!

I'm supposed to be writing a paper, but one of the evils of internet research is the Knot button on my bookmark toolbar...it's *right* there... :-\

So, how is your week going?  Any wedding updates, thoughts, changes?  Anything we can be praying for?

NWR: The church in Kansas is calling FI's references tonight (I think it's all 9 of them...I think).  We should know in a week or so if we'll be going out there.  We're going home this weekend to visit my family.  It'll be nice to get some family time in before all of the holiday craziness hits.

WR: My DOC sent me some forms to fill out so we're all on the same page, and she wants to stop by the church and reception hall at some point during Christmas break so we can "walk" through the plans in our head before we start making things concrete.  It was fun to write it all out...7 months and 2 days to go!!

I think it's a good thing I didn't discover the Knot until after I graduated.  Although that just means I looked at dress pictures instead of doing my reading!

Nine sounds like a lot of references!  I hope you enjoy your weekend!

I need prayers for patience.  Our save the dates still haven't arrived, and I'm starting to get very anxious about them!  I always want things to happen in my time frame, even though I know it's not about what I want.

I thought it sounded like a lot, too.  He had to have 3 previous employers/supervisors, a {non-related} pastor, a Bible study leader, someone he's worked with in ministry, and 3 non-related peers.  The application actually said one of them could not be a fiancee (no mention of a wife or girlfriend...just fiancee)...you wonder which applicant made them actually have to write that...

Oh I understand your pain about NOT doing school work. I was doing a paper but then, this is much more interesting than Spanish or pathophysiology!
My baby Buster. FI is jealous cause I love him more.

It's my last hour at work and I too am having focus issues. BUT, I also figured out my reception and cake table layouts on my lunch break, so I'm excited to go home and start figuring out details. Plus FI keeps sending me sweet e-mails that make me even more distracted. ;)

Awww... FI is so busy at work he occasionally makes it onto gchat. Also, my boss had a bug on her ceiling and made one of our coworkers get on a ladder and kill it. What a princess!!

Hey ladies!  I'm in training at work this week which is a nice change of pace, but we have a test tomorrow and I'm nervous about it.  I've been out of school for 12 years so tests are a thing of the past for me.

Last weekend I did my boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  I do them every year - in fact, I shop throughout the year for them.  I did 12 this year.  This Saturday my mom and I are going to a factory nearby to pack more boxes so I'm excited about that (the factory lets my church use their assembly line to pack the Christmas boxes)!

This time change has messed up my sleep schedule and I've been tired all week.  Time for bed!  Hope you all are having a great week!!

The time change has really messed me up, too.  That, combined with the freakishly early sunset is making me sleepy earlier, but if I go to bed now, I'll be up at 6...and that wouldn't help anything.  Forcing myself to stay awake is getting old...I just want to get back in some sort of rhythm.

So far my week has been okay.  The one disappointment I have right now is that I have to get a TB test / health certificate for my employer, and while it sounds easy, in theory... I'm a part-time employee so I don't qualify for health coverage with them, so I will have to pay totally out-of-pocket for the TB test ($75) and health certificate (easily $150).  Not to mention that this is my ONLY job, as we all know that the job market needs to keep trying to get back on its feet.... so yeah, that's frustrating.

I have called the health dept. because they do TB tests, but unfortunately since I'm employed with the state of NC with the public school system, EVEN THOUGH I'M PART TIME, AND DON'T HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE, I don't qualify for any health services with the health department, not even if I paid for the test (which is only $13 for those who qualify).  UGGGGGH!!!!

But positively... my mom is more excited about my dress shopping and actually asked me about it.  Tonight we spent some more time looking for bridesmaids dresses with designers that have my specific color, and found one to email out to the girls as a possible pick.
July 16, Our Wedding Day, is also International Juggling Day!
