I'll have to post pictures of ME in my dress later. I apparently don't have them at my work computer! I actually have an interesting story......

I originally bought a Maggie Sottero Adelaide, back in October.

At that point, I was a size 22, but have since lost just about 40 lbs. I lost so much weight, it couldn't be altered without ruining the pretty beading on the dress. So I decided to get a new one.

So THIS is the dress I'm going to be wearing.

I'm a weight watcher as well! I've been going there since mid-September, and I've lost 39.8 lbs. I'm hoping to hit the -40lb mark tomorrow!

Have you been on the Getting in Shape board? There's a daily accountability post with WW & non WW people. It's definitely helped to keep me on track.

katie I tried on that dress, I looked like a spongebob or something! You gotta be "statuesque" for that dress, good for you, its beautiful!

Thanks! I am not statuesque, lol, unless you like short statues, but I ordered it a size up to get the skirt more 'flowy' the lining in the size that fit my chest was too tight and bunched up around my hips, but with some alterations, and what the sales assosciate suggested something to "push out the breasts" (to make them look bigger I guess lol) and some heavy duty spanks I should be ok. I actually felt taller in this gown, and it distracted from the fact that one of my sholders is a bit lower than the other.

My wedding gown will look something like this, in ivory. My mom is making my wedding and reception gowns so they won't look exactly like any pic. As soon as she finishes I will definitely post pics of them.

This is a picture of my wedding dress (not with me in it, unfortunately).

I'm also in the process of losing weight to look better in my dress, although I'm going to a gym rather than using Weight Watchers (I'm already diabetic so I did not want to go through learning another diet).

I love this one because it's really simple (which also means if I lose a bunch of weight, it will be easier to size down).

After I got engaged, my mom started looking online at dresses. She sent me this dress and I didn't even pay attention. Later a coworker sent it to me and I thought it was gorgeous, so I showed my mom and she said "I already sent that to you!" Unfortunately, no shops anywhere near here had that dress for me to try on. I tried on probably over 75 dresses and never had that "this is the one" experience. I called around to every bridal shop within 2 hours from here and finally found one that had the dress. So I went and tried it on, and it was the one! I just love that even though my mom hasn't been able to come down to be part of the day to day wedding planning, that she basically picked out my dress!

It is a Maggie Sottero, and apparently it is soooo last season, which is why it was hard to fine. I'm not well-versed in what is "current" so I didn't care. I love my dress!

You shouldn't feel like your dress is boring, you probably chose it because of your personal style. I haven't found a dress yet, still looking, but the one day I did try on about 20 different dresses, people kept trying to put me in very fluffy, jeweled dresses that just aren't me, I have a very simple style, almost casual in a way, plus I'm getting married on a beach so I know despite what others want me to wear, I'll end up with a simpler style as well.

Congrats to all on the weight-loss success stories, WW did not work for me, I found it added more stress to convert everything to a number so I've just started to eat more vegetables and then I don't want as much of the other junk. Also, I'm cutting out after-dinner snacks, and working out extra at the gym, hope it works.

No pics in my dress yet...I will have to be sure to take some when it comes in.

It's the Rhianna Royale by Maggie Sottero. I found it online months before I got engaged and was so happy that when I tried it on, it really was "the one!"
