Random btching

I hate, hate, HATE when I ask what beverages a restaurant (I use the term lightly) has and they say either "Coke products" or "Pepsi products".  Whythef*ck would I have ever memorized a list of what products are produced by each company?  Move your lazy moth and LIST the beverages when I ask.

I was complaining about this to Mr. Kuus, and he thought I was totally unreasonable and that EVERYONE knows things like what parent companies make what.  Then I asked him to list body care products that were made by Johnson and Johnson and which were by Proctor and Gamble, and he stopped talking.

Even then, they usually don't have the full line, so they should list them anyway.  Fresca is a Coke product, but I've only been in two restaurants in my entire life that served it.  (Oddly, both in Massachusetts.)  It's not like it's all inclusive.

Usually with Pepsi products, at least in the West. <div>
</div><div>I'm only interested in whether they have sweet, sweet Coke, so this doesn't bother me at all. But really, most places have Cola, Diet, Lemon-Lime. How hard is it to remember Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite vs. Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Sierra Mist? </div><div>
    </div><div>Also, it's usually on the menu. </div>

I hate when you say you want a Coke and they say, "I can give you Pepsi." I HATE PEPSI. It isn't the same. Sprite doesn't taste like 7UP either, no thanks.

Also, coke and pepsi don't include iced tea.  And if iced tea...is it flavored?

    You're right Kuus.

Pepsi is clearly the superior cola drink.

    My random bitching:
My coworker eats a yugurt every morning. But instead of eating it out of the plastic cup like a normal person she pours it into a glass bowl and eats it with a regular silverware (instead of plastic) so that I have to hear clink clink clink clink clink clink as she scraps all of the sides for the last remaining remnants of flavor. I realize I'm too easily annoyed, but this goes on for 5 or 10 minutes every morning before I've finished my coffee. gah!

Most people order the same drink all the time and know which family it is in.

Dr. Pepper isn't made by Pepsi, but I think Mr. Pibb is made by Coke, so generally if Dr. Pepper isn't served in the same place that carries Coke products...at least that is the way it was back in the day.

    I miss. Dr. Pepper.
H said that people actually complain if they ask for Pepsi, and the restaurant only has Coke! I never knew this was an issue, because all fountain cola tastes the same to me. but people really do taste a difference!
    Posted by Wifezzilla
Zilla, I can tell the difference between canned Coke, glass bottle Coke, plastic bottle Coke, and fountain Coke. I can even tell you if that fountain was at a McDonald's or not (they have the best mix). I'm a supertasting Coke fiend. You'd better not give me a damn Pepsi. <div>
</div><div>I don't complain if I'm told in advance and can order iced tea, though. Only if I order Coke and they bring Pepsi. </div>

Depends on the distributor.  Mostly it's a Pepsi product, but in some parts of the country it's Coke.

I hate, hate, hate when I order iced tea and they give me that sweet crap.  Even AFTER saying 'unsweet, no sugar, plain iced tea."  I will not pull away from the drive thru until I taste it.

Coke is disgusting and black licorice flavored. I hate it. Diet Coke tastes like artificial sweetener.

But, I'm also the weirdo that does know which products are Pepsi and which are Coke. That's mostly because I hate Coke products though.

I prefer coke to pepsi, and agree with Bmom about McDonald's coke being the best.

I don't drink it often but when I do I will always go for a coke.

I can understand not knowing who parents what beverage (is that right? I'm tired...)

but I do know that Dr. Pepper is in its own category and delicious in ways no other beverage can touch.

Also tasty: cheerwine, though I haven't had one in years so it might be just obscenely sweet to me now.

I think if you care about coke vs. pepsi, then you know who makes what.

I flat-out ask, "do you serve coke or pepsi?"  If I hear "Pepsi," then I'll say "thanks, I'll have a water."

I will actively seek out restaurants who have coke zero in the fountain. (So far, some chick-fil-as, hardees, five guys, and one sit-down place locally.)  But I'll settle for diet coke.

I can't get too grumpy when they say they serve pepsi products. I mean, it's not like any of that is good for you, so it's in my best interest to drink water anyway, even if it's technically against my will.

I'll only get peeved if I ask for diet coke and they bring me diet pepsi without warning. That's just poor service.  They don't make other random substitutions without telling you - why should they with soda?

Ditto Minm. My diet coke habit is up to 2-3 cans a day. I can practically feel my bones disintigrating.

One of my BFFs planned her wedding based on which venue served Coke products.

Dr. Pepper is still an independent company, which is why it can be served anywhere.  It is bottled and distributed by Coke, which is their way to get into the Pepsi line restaurants.
