What has everyone been up to?

We booked a tasting with our new caterer for next Wednesday.... SO excited!!

I also got my first fitting scheduled for Feb 18.... my seamstress is doubling as our DOC so we are also going to talk through a lot of that stuff on the 18th. It is getting SO close!!

-Signed contract & sent deposit for our cake
-Signed contract & sent deposit for my hair/makeup artist
-Packed envelopes for calligrapher, just have to get them in the mail this afternoon
-Scheduled our tasting
-Designed little moo cards to direct people back to the wedding website (we couldn't get meal selection on the RSVP, so we're doing it online)

I'm at the fourth month mark and my mental goal was to have all vendor contracts signed by now. My bigger goal is to have all DIYs excited menus, escort cards, and programs done by the three month mark.

It's not really my check, but the Best Man reserved the Friars Club for FI's Bachelor Party. He's going to call me later to go over secret details...

FI really wanted a roast for his bachelor party (has been talking about it for years) and his buddy going do an awesome job so I'm excited for him!

We met with our tent people yesterday! It went so well and was so easy! I'm so excited that they'll be able to make the tent look exactly how I envisioned.

Here's our inspiration picture:

We'll have the tent liner like in this picture with a couple different strands of the C7 (large size) bulb strands on the outside of the liner with twinkle lights along the edge of the tent. We're having a band too, but FI insisted on a black and white checkered dance floor. We're meeting with the lighting guy to have some pin/spot lighting over the tables and there will be votives on the tables to help create a soft/romantic glow.

We're meeting with the lighting guy tomorrow to figure out the logistics and specific lighting we'll need.

I also ordered my custom napkins yesterday. I honestly can't say enough good things about ForYourParty.com's customer service. They called yesterday as they were processing the ordering and thought the font was just a little too small for what I had selected, and they asked if it would be okay if the bumped it up a size. It was so considerate of them! I can't wait to get them in the mail!

The quotes I went with are:

"He stole me heart, so I stole his last name" on the slate napkin with white ink.

and

"He was part of my dream, of course- but then I was part of his dream too. -Lewis Carroll" on the white napkin with slate ink.

FI and I talked last night about a bunch of WR items

-For our HM, we will be leaving Sunday evening (wedding is on Friday, but Sunday is Father's day and we want to spend time with the kids). We'll be driving to somewhere in NY and stop for the night somewhere (need to research more as I have no idea where), then we will continue driving the next morning to stay at Poconos Palace Resort in PA from Monday and leave Friday.

-Rehearsal & Rehearsal dinner we will have our kids present, but my son will go with my mom afterwards & his will go back with their mother. He will pick up the boys Friday mid-morning, and my mom will pick up FI's daughter and bring her to the hotel where we will all be getting our hair & make-up done.

-At our details appt with our venue, we have a lot to discuss with them as their pricing went up $4 pp. We are going to see if we can negotiate the price down as we are having a simple grilled chicken entree with potatoes and green beans (no fancy sauces or anything). Hopefully they can work with us and bring it down at least half the cost.

-BM dresses came in Monday. I wish they could have come in last week while I was in New Jersey! Hopefully the girls will take pictures when they go to try them on.
-Bought necklaces and flip flops for the BMs
-Started painting the little boxes that I will be giving them the necklaces in
-Bought the supplies to assemble the card box
-Bought FI a watch to give him the day of in addition to the cuff links I had already bought

Not really a check but sort of a reality check.

I ran thru all of our costs etc compared to our budget and realized there is not as much cushion as I thought. All of the little things really added up (DIY projects-veil, cake toppers, rsvp stamp, pens, floral monograms etc). I was hoping to have enough extra to add a photobooth, but we won't. no more additions. I realized we are going to have to cut back more on everyday things until the wedding. It's not a big deal, just sucks. I wish I had been more mindful of this in the beginning, but at that time I didn't have good estimates on what everything would cost.
