FS - Yard Sale!

This weekend we're having a huge yard sale. What's the biggest item you've sold price wise? What's the most you've paid for an item? What was it? Do you think bigger ticket items would be best sold on ebay or craigslist?

i sold an old pda/cellphone for $60. i tried first on ebay and CL and it didnt sell.
we had great luck listing specific items on CL that were going to be at the YS, seperately, not listed under yardsales, just listed under playpen and lawnmower etc... we didnt have to worry about people flaking out or coming to pick it up when we were home alone etc.

I sold a tv on craigslist for $100. I think its better for big ticket because people who are trolling for yard sales might not be ready to spend money. Speaking of yard sales - is anyone are freaked out by Hoarders as I am?

I just had my first one last year (I got to sell all his ex's stuff woohoo) I will never have one again. The biggest thing we had out was a vintage John Deers riding mower. Which, as someone pointed out people wanted to haggle over. I sold it on craiglist for our asking price.

Most of the stuff ended up at Goodwill. Yard sales are hard work!

We bought our bar at a yard sale for $50. It came with four barstools that we promptly threw out because they were awful (guy wouldn't sell the bar without the stools). The bar's really nice! It's in great shape.

They are hard work but there is a big community one going on in a school parking lot this weekend. So hopefully that will up the foot traffic.
