North Shore Venues

Hello all, newbie here.

My fiance and I are going to have a look at:

Tewksbury CC
Bear Hill Golf Club
Sheraton Colonial, Wakefield
Peabody Marriott

Any reviews/advice you can offer is greatly appreciated and suggestions for other venues are also welcome!

PS we've already crossed off Danversport YC and Burlington Marriott because our sisters got married there.

Tewksbury Country CLub is gorgeous and the food is good....we go there for Easter dinner every year.  One thing that they do that I don't like, and the only reason I mention this is because we are looking there for my BF's bridal shower, is that they charge a service fee, tax, and gratuity on top of it.  They also charge a room rental fee.  Depending on your numbers and your budget, it would be a beautiful place to get married!!

I fell in love with all the photos of the Tewksbury CC...it is a gorgeous venue. But they are very expensive. I would say more so than other places in the area.  If that's not a concern then I'd say def check them out though, it's a beautiful space!

Maybe check out the Andover CC. Its pretty reasonable priced and have a nice outdoor area for pictures and ceremony, if you're interested in that.

I am having my reception at the Tewksbury Country Club. I have no complaints so far since I am still pretty early in the process. I just really loved the way the grand ballroom looked. It def has a very rustic feel which I fell in love with! I would say check it out and then go from there! Good luck!

I just went to a wedding at TCC and it was very nice. There were a few very small "annoying" things...

    1. Cocktail hour bar is in a separate room that has a small door opening so there was a very long time most of the time- but it did move rather fast.
    2. During cocktail hour I had to repeatedly ask for a fork.. probably 5 times before the waitress was like, oh yeah those would probably be a good idea

Other than those 2 things it really was a great wedding. The food was good and the rooms were rustic and really pretty.

Oh and SBoston is getting married at the Sheraton in Wakefield... if you page her I'm sure she'll be more than happy to answer some questions for you.

I hate to say this, but when I called TCC the other day to set up an appointment, the woman I spoke to was slightly snotty on the phone. And after she told me that every Saturday in September 2011 is already booked she says, "does that change your mind about coming in?" Mike doesn't even want to go see it anymore, but we're going lol.

Ive been to a ton of weddings at the Tewksbury CC. FI and I are from Tewksbury haha. The space is beautiful. They also have their own bridal show thats free every year which all the vendors give you big deals if you book with them. The food is alright. Two of the weddings I went to the food was ice cold when it was served. The other time the food was fine. I have aLSO heard of other times where the food was an issue. Other than that weddings there are always gorgeous! If you in the area I also recommend hair done at Salon Karma down the street. One of the girls there also just got married at Tewksbury CC. and they have done my hair for years and always do my friends weddings
