Monday, sigh

I must be to work early if there isn't even a morning thread yet!

This week should be decent at work but I still wish i could have stayed home and relaxed today. We had a great time on our trip but it was tiring. I really hope the next few days go by quickly.

Thursday my father is coming into town for our food tasting! I am super excited about both parts of that. FH also arranged to get him a surprise behind the scenes tour at his favorite brewery/restaurant.

How was everyone else's weekend? Any exciting plans this week?

Re: Monday, sigh

  • edited May 2012
I'm grumpy today, probably because of all the cleaning I have to do tonight. But it was a good weekend, despite the fact that I left my computer cord and phone charger at my mom's. I'm blaming H for taking the charger out of our bag and not replacing it, and as for the cord, neither of us remembers ever even taking it out but I'm still going to blame him anyway. I think mostly I'm frustrated because it seems like neither of us will ever be able to just get out shiit together and we're destined to always be forgetful people who can't keep a clean house. I need a break from this life (not from H, just from life).

But whatever. I'm starting my vacation countdown today. 5 more Fridays to go.
  • Morning.  I went shopping yesterday and got a dress for work, 3 pairs of work pants, a cardigan, and 4 work tops, for less than $250.  It was the highlight of my weekend.

Then we came home and Emma had not been feeling well and was stuck in her crate while we were out.  We spent the rest of the evening cleaning her, the crate, the carpet, the wall next to the crate, airing out the house etc.  I hate that she was stuck in it, but I'm so glad she was contained.  Poor girl.  She seemed to be feeling better last night, and was eating and drinking okay.  And she was fine this morning.  So fingers crossed she'd just eaten something gross in the yard.
  • Morning. I'm grumpy too, Sesh. I stupidly took my vitamins on an empty stomach, which made me feel too queasy to go running this morning. I hate missing a workout, but it really would not have gone well. I need to put a sign up at my desk that says something like "I'm here, but I'm not really here" or something. Everyone's annoying me today.

This weekend was fun. We had a great time at our party Saturday night, met new people, and my makeup was all Black Swan-esque. Wish I had gotten a picture, but there were photographers there, so maybe they'll post some online.

Yesterday we went out to brunch at our favorite hangover-recovery restaurant, then H took me shopping for a dress for our anniversary. He totally spoiled me. :)

I blasted that petty lardass in an email on friday, she was gone for the afternoon and we had a situation and it was her fault so I blasted her in the most professional way possible. I fully expect her to have complained and to deal with backlash. I'm totally fine with that though, cause I'm so righteously sick of her. Part of me just wants to say "does she want to take back the tasks I took over? Cause I will gladly give them back" and just let them lay me off. I realize that isn't practical though! Oh, but lastnight I found a new krispy kreme video and I was laughing so hard adam could hear me all the way outside. Its classic!
  • Aw, Pirate, hope the pup feels better soon.

I'm up, we didnt get hime from the concert till about 12:30 and the dog was up at 4:45, ugh! I have a headache and I didnt even get buzzed.
H is at work today, I took the day off so I'm hanging out with the brat. I cleaned most the weekend so I shouldnt have much to do today, I may go shopping.

The concert was great, but there were quite a few annoying women there. At one point I wanted to kick the seat of the woman ahead of us, I wonder why people pay good money for a concert to get up every five minutes and hold a conversation. So, she dropped her phone at one point and her friend called it so she could find it. Well she got up and dropped it again....we didnt bother to tell her and it was under the seat when they left. I know I'm a b!tch.

  • Morning. I fell asleep on the drive home yesterday so I was up really late and now I am so tired. We sorted through our shower gifts last night and put together a thank you note list so I'll try to get those out this week.

  • kd - don't worry, people bother the shiit outta me too. When were at the restaurant yesterday nursing our hangovers, there was a family next to us with two toddler boys. The boys kept squealing, and the parents did absolutely nothing about it. So, I didn't feel too bad literally cringeing in my seat everytime one of the boys squealed. Then, the mother picked one of them up and was walking around the table talking to everyone, swaying the boy on her hip. Which put his feet right at my eye level, and she even hit me in the head a couple times. I stood up, said "Pardon me" and noisily scooted my chair over. I think she got the point. Rude beyotch.

  • good morning,

celtic, of all the wedding stuff, the tasting was FH's favorite part, and a brewery tour, sounds like a good night, have fun ;)

    nebb share the link?

great weekend - we stayed went to a hotel and were supposed to on a walking tour of the city but my hipbone had other plans.  FH and twirlygirl were good sports though, they got me a roll of bubble wrap and a video of the Notebook and we had a family snugglefest in bed.   More lovely weather yesterday felt well enough to do our open-house-sunday tradition, saw some really lovely places.  They took me clothes shopping for mother's day, then we went a restaurant we'd never been to before with awesome food, great martinis and no wait time.   good stuff.

    Morning!

I am still full from yesterday.  I made strawberry/cream cheese/almond stuffed french toast, mushroom/prosciutto mini quiches, and sausage for brunch for my mom.

I was going to make dinner too but my dad offered to do it.  He made filet mignon and lobster. We had the same thing at our wedding, so H and I reminisced about that. Yum.

Pirate, I hope Emma is ok.  Poor puppy.  I always feel so bad when Lucy isn't feeling well, she looks so pitiful.  But it's usually because she ate something in the yard that she wasn't supposed to, so hopefully that is all that Emma did.

DJ, I hope you feel better soon! Do you have to go to work this week or can you call in sick again?

That reminds me of the time I was sitting having a drink with a friend at a hotel bar/restaurant, the place was almost completely empty and a family chose to sit right next to us. They were loud, the mom was bf the whole time and then she reamed me out for saying the word "tampon" near her precious spawn. I just gawped at her and didn't say anything. Stupid C.

  • I hope Emma feels better, pirate.

KD, I would have done the same thing.

I think I need to go back to the chiropractor. I've noticed lately that I've been holding my head to the side again and the past few days I've had a lot of pain on one side of my neck. I think I just need a quick adjustment but I certainly won't object to their awesome muscle shock thingy. The only thing I worry about is I was snippy with them last time I was there because of their payment fuckup.
  • Sesh, I'm sure they don't remember you were snippy.  I bet they get a lot of snippy people.  Go, it'll make you feel better.
  • Don't get me wrong, I totally understood that it was Mother's Day and brunchtime, but this place isn't your typical Denny's or IHOP. It's a gay bar. That's the whole reason we went there, to avoid the Mother's Day hoopla. They were literally the ONLY family there, everyone else was there in groups of 2 or 3, sipping on mimosas and bloody marys and giving this family the evil eye. I mean, seriously, who wakes up on Mother's Day and thinks, "You know what would make Mom feel really special? If we got the ten of us together and had brunch at a gay bar"??

I don't really understand taking kids to bars at all.
    imageVacation
  • We went out to eat on Sunday and it was pretty quiet, not very busy. But we were right by the salad bar so we got to watch a fun scene. A father was up with his two kids (around 5-7, maybe?) and one of the boys somehow ended up putting his entire arm in his salad plate, getting dressing all down his arm.

He starts saying "Ew, ew!" and asking his dad to help get it off and the dad totally ignores him. So the kid is standing there with his arm in the air covered in ranch (no napkins around) and the dad is telilng him to be quiet so he can get his pickles. My stepdad got up and gave the kid a handful of napkins and wiped off the counter and the kid's dad gave him the evil eye.

WTF, dude. Take care of your own kid, then!

I've decided to start a movement for "nonmothers day". I deserve a day too. Just cause I don't and will not have kids doesn't mean I don't deserve to be celebrated once a year too. I'm going to start designing the hallmark cards soon.
  • FI's parents decided to go to a little hole in the wall place for breakfast on Sunday and FI's ex was our waitress. It was kind of awkward because she was trying to get back with him while going through her divorce right at the same time he and I met.  There was some tension going on.

  • Morning. For some reason I am in a great mood today, not sure why but I'll take it!

Mehg- I would have flipped my shiit! That is really annoying.

Dj- I really hope you feel better soon! Seriously.
  • Ha, brandi that would have been really weird. Was she nice, at least?

Nebb, you should start a pet parent day in addition to non-Mother's Day. I totally deserve a day for putting up with Sir Whisky.

This! My H is actually bad about this sometimes. I constantly have to tell him to watch where he's moving, standing, etc...

And I'm usually make it known when people are getting on my nerves. Especially if their kids are kicking me in the head.

  • Sesh-  I guess so.  She kept trying to flirt with him but he shut her down.  When we first sat down she walked up and put her hand on his shoulder and said "You know... the one at the head of the table always gets the check" and giggled like she was 12. We all just stared at her. Then she got our drink order.  It was just weird.
