The Ultimate in Peabody for BM dresses?

Hi all. Curious if any of you have had experiences with the Ultimate in Peabody? I know it's a popular place to buy prom dresses, but I realized that they do bridesmaids as well, and according to the website they have quite a selection. Any opinions/experiences? TIA!

The last time I was in there was 12 years ago when I was looking for prom dresses in high school. They did have a ton of dresses, however I felt as though their staff was very pushy.

I bought my prom dress there 10 years ago!! They had a huuuuuuuge selection of prom dresses, but I am not sure about BM dresses.  I did think some of their dresses were a little pricey

I got my BM dresses there only because they were the only place around who carried the dress I wanted my girls to try on.  They were very quick to order and receive my dresses, and have a huge selection, BUT...... if you have fuller figured maids, I'd suggest skipping them.  They made my MOH cry.  They only carry tiny sizes and seem to expect everyone to be in a tiny size and don't cater very well to fuller girls.

I went there last year for a BM dress for a friends wedding. They do have a very good selection of BM dresses. However...I find that the owner is VERY snotty. When I was ordering my dress which ended up being 10xs bigger than my street clothes size, she had NO problem announcing to the customers as she was writing the info down, that I had to pay an extra $10.00 because I was "Plus Sized"  Not the dress but ME! (dress was a size 22) there was no reason for her to treat me like I was a troll (which she did and as she made her announcement SCANNED me up and down) Low and behold..when I received the dress  IT DIDN'T FIT!  They told me that it couldn't be re-ordered I could bring it in and they could "try" to fix it but it would cost anywhere between $50.00 to $100.00 depending on what they had to do. I ended up taking it to Precious Memories in Malden that's where the bride bought her gown. Their seamstress (who is unbelievably talented) told me I was sized wrong. The chest panel was in the wrong spot and needed to be raised. She ended up taking out the entire inner panel, when it was done fit like a glove! Oh and she only charged me $20.00

So, my advice....if you must go there then go at least to see their selection. They do still cater to Prom mostly though. Stay away from the owner she is a B$*@*and thinks she is better than everyone else. I highly recommend Precious Memories in Malden. For a small salon they have a wide variety of BM dresses. And the staff is very accommodating.
    Sorry so long...HTH!  Laughing

I bought a dress there 4 years ago for a Marine Ball.  They are very pushy, snotty and rude like pp said.  I also think the prices on some of the designs are a lot higher than other dress shops.  I bought my dress for $300 and then later found it for $150.  So I'd look somewhere else.

I agree with the pps. I went there to look for MOB dresses for my mother and wasn't impressed. When I called to see if they had a dress in stock in advance they said that they did. When we got there they said oh that they had never had that particular dress and that we had somehow misunderstood them on the phone. Um. ok.

I remember when they were further up on route 1 south.  I went once looking for prom dresses about 11 years ago and they were terrible.  I remember laughing at how nutso the ladies were.  I thought the place closed because they were so mean and surprise...they are still in existence, but further north on route 1.  Any place with a sign like the one they have is not worth visiting IMO.

Ugh.  I wish I had asked before we went there last weekend.

    Cliff notes of our experience:
We walk in, they were awful off the bat.
My mom got a call FROM THEM telling her a dress had come in that she liked, they had no clue what we were tlaking about and told us that didn't happen.
We finally found the dress ON OUR OWN.
FMIL called asking if they carried a certain designer, they said yes, they had TWO effing dresses by that designer, great thanks....
They kept tlling my mom the dress she had on was the size she needed, it literally was falling off of her, i could pull inches away from her body on all sides.
They couldn't accommodate my 94 year old grandmother.
They never said one thing to me.
OMG, I could go on and on.

The good thing about their store....they have a TON of dresses.  We're buying my mom's dress elsewhere, I couldn't fathom having to deal with those people ever again.
