chinese lanterns

We are planning to marry on Maui July 2012 and I was wondering if we would be allowed to release chinese lanterns??

    If you're talking about the wish lanterns, I doubt you'll be able to do that.  During the summer, there is an even greater chance of wildfires, so I really wouldn't chance it.  Please also think of the trash that will be left behind once the flames die out.

    From what I was able to find, sparklers have been banned starting in 2011, but paper lanterns have not been.  In fact, there is still an annual paper lantern festival.  However, I'm not sure if that's considerd an exception condition, KWIM?  I would definitely worry about the safety of paper lanterns with an open flame, though.  Even if they were allowed, the risk of fire would really worry me.

    Olowalu plantation house does not allow the sky lanterns. Checked allready with my WC.

    I love those Chinese lanterns! I may have to do some digging around! I'll let you know if I find anything out.
