Getting in shape?

Anyone working on dropping a few pounds before the big day? What are you doing to achieve the goal?

I was part of a local gym for a few years, but recently canceled. I was tired of paying the $40 monthly fee and never really sticking with it.

Since 2 weeks ago I've been working out with The Shred and LOVE it. I don't have to worry about leaving my home and get an intense work out in a shorter amount of time.

Also try No More Trouble Zones (Jillian Michaels). You get a lot of work in during the 50 minutes and you definitely feel it after. I picked it up at Target for like $9 I believe and you only need hand weights (I use 3 and 5 lbs ones right now).

I'm trying to just get leaner so there arent any bumps/bulges in my dress, and more importantly for a week in a bikini on our honeymoon.  I do a decent amount of cardio, lift weights, and watch what I eat.  I dont diet.  I rarely drink alcohol or sodas.

BTW, under the Wedding Boards, there is a Getting in Shape board that can be helpful.  I dont always agree with everything, but its definitely helpful to read what other people are doing and ask questions if you hit a road block.

I've been on Weight Watchers since January, and that seems to be working out well. Since portion control is my largest issue, I needed something to help me adjust my lifestyle. As for physical activity, I try to walk everyday, I play softball for my company team, instruct a high school band front, ride a stationary bike, and do Wii Fit (not all are everyday!)  I couldn't make myself go to a gym consistently, so I, too, canceled my membership a couple months back.

Same as MiguelHilary just trying to get toned. For me it's not really what I eat but the amount of physical activity. Now that it's nicer out FI and I have been going for bike rides on trails behind our house. We do a lot of running around with our dog and I have a work out tape I will try to do 3 times a week.

I also heard the Shred is great!

I was doing a bootcamp for the past 6 weeks so I did that twice a week, ran twice a week, and took a kickboxing class. It was a great regime but now that bootcamp is over I'm hoping I'll keep up with the exercises that I've learned. I'm also being a lot more health conscious about what I eat as well. And I like the No Trouble Zones by Jillian Michaels.

I have really been trying to put on muscle, and cut up so I look "buff" for the wedding.  I  do a bootcamp in Medford, at Breakthru Fitness, that I have become ADDICTED to!  I love it.  It's basically personal training for a fraction of the price, and the group that we have it in is so fun.  Since I have been in it, I have lost over 5 inches and have toned up a lot.

I also have been watching what I eat of course, lots of friuts, veggies, and other "raw" foods, and of course, no junk!

We start a new "round" on Monday, and when I started they would let you try a class for free.  I am not sure if they are still doing that, but you could check.  : )

    GL!
