I know it’s a little early and that they haven’t even reset the website yet, but anyone planning on attempting this year?
For those that don’t know what it is check out
http://www.nanowrimo.org/ It stands for National Novel Writing Month. You have to write 50,000 words in the month of November. It is pure wonderful torture. lol I’m impatient for it to start.
I’m deburnin on there too if anyone wants to be writing buddies.

(Oh and this will probably be a P&R because I need to get ready for work).

Why don't you think they have people type straight into the website to ensure non-cheating?
[QUOTE]How many people do you think "cheat" in NaNoWriMo? Why don't you think they have people type straight into the website to ensure non-cheating?

<div>Well, there's not really a significant prize for winning, or a penalty for losing, so cheating is kind of pointless.</div>

<div>If you cheat to win NaNo you’re really only cheating yourself. It’s not like there’s a cash prize or anything. And I’m guessing the reason is server space. Also people are worried about the website owner’s gaining rights to anything published on their website. At the end of the month most people encrypt their story so the word count stays the same when they paste it into the verifier.</div>

Last year, I was taking 6 classes and working to support myself on top of it, so I got all of 10,000 words before quitting. Meanwhile, BF sat down for the first time (it was my third try) and finished three days early.
Still.. next November, I'll be a first year teacher. o.O So maybe I should go for it this year.
Best of luck to anyone to attempts! =D
