We're using Tyler Freear.  He charges one flat rate for the entire event, not hourly.  We just had our engagement photo shoot with him yesterday and he's totally awesome.  In the hour and a half that we were with him, he took 115 photos.  He also gives you all the digital copies of the pictures (minus the ones that are bad).  I totally recommend him!  Here's his website, prices are listed on there.

I am just doing a strip tour, but I am using Keith Kaplan. I have heard great things about him from other knotties and he has been wonderful to work with thus far

Tyler was our 2nd choice. We met with him and he was very friendly, and even offered to knock $150 off the price if we used a location that charged an outside vendor fee.

Ditto Todd. Prices were very reasonable, great to work with and received all photos on CD.

I'm having the same issue.  Seems like there are a lot of inexperienced and/or cheesy or just plain overpriced photographers to sift through.  I was looking at Scenic Las Vegas Weddings (even though some of the posed shots on their website seem pretty silly) but it's mainly because I want copies of the raw files and they're only one out of 2 or 3 I've found that are willing to do that. But I think now I'm going to check out those mentioned above too.  Scenic is $850/3 hrs.

We are using Tyler Freear as well!  We are meeting with him when we are out in Vegas in a couple of weeks and we are looking forward to meeting him face to face.  Plus he is coming to us at our hotel for the meeting.  He is great with his communication and really nice to talk with.  His prices are really reasonable when comparing them to other places.  We originally looked into Bentley and Wilson because of their reveiws that I've seen on here, but they are booked on our wedding day and their prices were really reasonable as well, but we were very happy to have found Tyler.  We just need our reception shot and he will charge us $750 for 5 hours plus a CD with all of our pictures with the rights to print them anywhere.

What do you consider outrageous?  A friend spent $5k on a photog.  I think THAT is outrageous.  I'm out the door for about $1800 for 8 hours and I think that is NOT outrageous.

What is your range of acceptable to outrageous?

I agree, $5k hits my outrageous limit too.

We're going with Steve Fogarty because we like his photojournalism style.  We're getting full event with pro lighting setup and his "crazy corner" alternative to a photo booth.  Photos are one of our budget priorities, and crazy corner fits into our reception pretty well.  Still, we're nowhere near $5k.

If we had an unlimited budget, I would have liked to go with Chelsea Nicole. Loved her portfolio. I think her basic wedding package started at $4k at the time.

Todd is very popular, and his 2 and 4 hour packages have recently gone up but he's still very reasonable.

I'd go with Todd.....I've never heard a complaint about him and he was my first choice, but had to go with someone else cuz he wasn't available on my wedding day.

my problem with this is..  this is my second wedding and I had the whole expensive pictures and in the time that we were married I don't think that I ever even looked at the photos again..  So 1800 is just ridiculous to me to spend that money for not even looking at them again.  And since the wedding book had made it in to the trash a few years back.  But my FI has never been married and he thinks that 2000 is not bad for photos, but I just don't want to bring up past choices.

</div><div>Then don't. Find a price that both of you are comfortable with paying.  I paid under $500 for my photographer and was incredibly happy with him.
