So...what am I supposed to do with the dress, exactly?

Can I just send it to the dry-cleaner?  Does it have to be "preserved"?  I plan to wear it every Halloween for the rest of my life, so don't see a point in putting it in a hermetically sealed, bullet-proof, water-proof, and doggie-proof box.  I don't have anywhere to put a box.  It'd be okay if i just got it regular dry-cleaned and hung it in the garment bag in the back of the closet, right?

I dont have an answer for you but I was just reading your proposal story.  Yep, I cried...so cute.  I'd love to read your ceremony and vows since I'm writing my own right now.  Can you post to let me know when you put them up, please?  Thank you!

This is a tough one--most brides have the dress preserved.  If you wear it for Halloween you don't need to preserve it.  It will yellow and age with  time.  Are you really planning on this--that is kind of cute!

I am ok with selling my dress after the wedding and will post it on the boards and ebay.  However, I told my gradmother this and she about fainted!  She couldn't believe I would "get rid" of my dress.  However, my mother says that I am being practical by selling something that will take up room and never be worn again.

So my question is, do you actually want to keep the dress in your closet or would you be willing to sell it and let another bride save some cash and save fabric/resources?  It is something to consider.

thanks!  I want to keep the dress for at least a year so i can do another photoshoot in it eventually.  Didn't get all the shots i wanted at the wedding, so i'm hoping to re-create it it later on and get more photos.  Eventually i might sell it, but honestly - I love the dress, so i would totally wear it every halloween just so i have a reason to wear it!

Emailed my cousin (he officiated) and asked him to send me the final draft of the ceremony, which i will put up tonight!

My dress has been hanging in our hall closet for just about a year now.  I had it cleaned right after the wedding to get out any stains but that's it.  I plan on having my MIL make christening gowns and baby pillow cases out of it.

I think that's FAB!!! I love your idea of wearing it every year from Halloween! I think if you plan to do a TRASH THE DRESS and maybe some other sessions keep it around for awhile. I think you'll know when it's time to depart.
