My now fiance and I have been together for 3 1/2 years. When we first started dating he was dead set on never getting married, but I guess if it's the right woman you just know and will do anything to keep her. We had plans to go out for his birthday to a local restaurant that we both like and is very special to the both of us cause it was the first place we went on a date. We get to the restaurant for his birthday dinner, meanwhile I had arranged for all of our friends to get to a local hang out of ours and wait to surprise him for his 35th b-day.
We had just ordered our food and were toasting to his birthday. I went to get something out of my purse and when I sat back up he slid a small maroon box on the table and said "see if this fits"... I looked at him and remember asking if he was serious. I could see the tears in his eyes and I knew it was for real. I started shaking and crying with a huge smile on my face all at the same time. He then jokingly asked me to not make a scene since we were in the middle of the restaurant. I got up and give him a huge kiss and said YES!! The waitress brought out our food but there was no eating for me... my nerves were taking over. As an older couple was walking out they stopped and quitely noticed that I had not touched my food and that he was all done and congratulated us!!! Meanwhile all of our friends were at the bar waiting to surprise him for his birthday but really it was a surprise for the both of us because they all knew he was proposing at dinner. I couldn't be happier And wouldn't have changed it for anything!!!
